Buffalos,

I am continually amazed, inspired and honored to be surrounded by each of your children every day. Throughout this entire pandemic our children have been so flexible and have reminded me that learning is truly joyful and better when we can collaborate with others. Additionally, I am amazed at the creativity and resiliency of our Berryton staff.

Here are some notes from a few grade levels from this past week at Berryton

• Kindergarten Cookbook- Our kindergarten classes are working on a cookbook and it's entertaining to see how our children think recipes should be created. This cookbook has been a great opportunity for our students to build writing skills.

• 6th Grade Egyptian Feast- Our sixth grade students have been learning about ancient Egyptian civilizations and they had a feast today as a culminating event.

• Reading and Writing about Gratitude- In classrooms across our building I observed lots of students reading and writing about gratitude. Our teachers picked out great literature to share to motivate and inspire students.

12/8- 5th/6th Orchestra Concert at 6:15 in SHHS Auditorium

12/8- 5th/6th Band Concert att 7:30 in SHHS Gym

12/14- Chipotle Meal Night from 5-9 pm

12/20- 3rd and 4th grade music concert at 7 pm (SHHS Auditorium)

12/23- 1/6- Holiday Break and No School

As an elementary principal I enjoy working collaboratively with staff members to support student learning. I am passionate about continuing to learn professionally, and building relationships with staff and students at Berryton Elementary. When I'm not serving at Berryton Elementary I am usually with my husband and two sons. We can be found at sporting events, cheering on Kansas State University, or just enjoying a movie at home.
