Hello September!
Message at School Mass this Week
In our first reading, we are reminded of Paul's words to the Colossians about growing spiritually to move from darkness into the light of the Lord. By receiving forgiveness and choosing to live with a perspective of wisdom, our commitment to God grows which naturally influences our everyday actions and words. A similar focus is shared in the Gospel reading where Luke tells us about Jesus calling his first disciples to be fishers of men. The obedience and faithfulness of Simon Peter, James and John to follow Christ is another encouragement for us to respond to His call in our own lives. How will you answer God's call to serve His mission this week?

- All School Mass for K - 8 (Thursdays) - Below is our schedule for the entire school year. Family members are welcome to join us after checking in at the front office!
- Curriculum Night (9/7) - Mark your calendars for this Thursday from 6 - 7:30 pm!
- STAR Standardized Testing (now until Sept. 15) - Our standardized testing window is open for the Fall time frame.
- Volleyball Games - ABC is looking for volunteers to operate the concession stand, admission window, and scoreboard. Click here for dates and times to help out!
- Oktoberfest Fundraiser (9/15) - Enjoy live music, games, costume contest & more!
- Picture Day (9/28) - Email Ms. Jen at jsupancheck@stcecilia.net to volunteer!
- Color Fun Run (10/7) - Registration deadline is September 27th to get a shirt and color powder! If anyone registers after 9/28, they will not receive a shirt or color powder.
As we are called in Colossians 1:10, may we walk worthy of the Lord, and bear fruit in every good work this week as we grow in the knowledge of God!

Shirt Design & Slogan Contest (Grades 3-8) starts this week! Use regular copy paper with a pen or pencil. Turn in by Monday, September 11th, to Jean Smith.
