PRINCIPAL'S UPDATE
Hello Eagle Crest Families!
I trust this message finds you well as we finish up our first full week of school! Ms. Cheney and I have been making our rounds through all the classrooms and it's been a pleasure to witness our students already immersed in the learning process. Academic growth is undoubtedly a priority, and this year, we're focusing on something equally important - RISE.
RISE represents our commitment to fostering a school community that is Responsible, Inclusive, Safe, and Empathetic. It's about more than academic achievement; it's about nurturing well-rounded individuals who can thrive in our diverse world.
Classroom discussions with the students have revolved around the importance of being Responsible, Inclusive, Safe, and Empathetic (RISE) in every aspect of their school experience. To be honest, this isn't limited to the classroom; it extends to the playground, the hallways, and our entire school community. We want our students to understand that these values are not just words; they are the foundation upon which we build a respectful and caring environment. We want to remind students and families that the adults in our school are here to provide children with guidance and support, as well as to ensure their safety as they grow into responsible members of society.
I hope that you have a wonderful weekend with your family!
Warmly,
Amanda
PS - Please find below information regarding the code of conduct and a request to acknowledge its receipt. This document is applicable district-wide, so we kindly ask that you complete it before September. Currently, 29% of families have completed this, and our goal is 100%!

DEAN OF STUDENT'S UPDATE
Hello Eagle Crest Families!
We are very fortunate at Eagle Crest to have a community that can walk and ride their bikes and scooters to school. We love to see our bike racks full as students stay active, reduce traffic and minimize our impact on the environment. As we keep enjoying the wonderful weather, we want to remind everyone to lock up their bikes and scooters during the day to keep them safe. While our campus is quiet during the day, we've experienced instances of items going missing from the racks, particularly in the afternoons as we and other schools dismiss for the day. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and responsible community!
All the best,
Lindsey Cheney
Dean of Students
Eagle Crest Elementary School

HEALTH OFFICE DONATIONS
Throughout a typical day at school there are often situations where students need an extra shirt or pair of pants to get them through the day. We want to have enough options, so as the new school year approaches, we're looking to restock. If your child has outgrown their clothes, please consider donating them to the Health Office. We need all sizes of clothing, including socks and underwear. Also, if your child happens to need some of our clothes, please wash and return them as soon as possible. Thank you for your support!
CODE OF CONDUCT
Every year, St. Vrain Valley Schools prints an up-to-date version of the Code of Conduct for students and families to review. This important document informs students and school staff about the expectations for school conduct and the consequences for behaviors outside of those expectations. It is important that families review this information every year and acknowledge their receipt and understanding of this document.
Please click here to access an electronic version of the Code of Conduct. After you have reviewed this information, all families must sign an electronic acknowledgement that they have received, read, and understand the information contained. To sign your electronic acknowledgement, please follow the steps described here.
PTO UPDATE
Dear Eagle Crest Families,
Thank you to the many families who braved the rain to join PTO's First Friday celebration last week!
BACK-TO-SCHOOL PICNIC
Eagle Crest's annual Welcome Back Picnic is Friday, September 8th, from 5 to 7 PM. Bring a blanket and dinner or order ahead from Papa John’s pizza. The last day to order ($14 large cheese or pepperoni) pizzas is Friday, September 1st, at 12 PM. Additionally, Cyclehops will have food available for purchase, and the Kona Ice truck will sell carnival treats! The picnic is a great opportunity to meet or reconnect with other families. Contact Lynnette or Brandy at ecptoevents@gmail.com with questions.
ROOM PARENTS AND CLASS DIRECTORIES
The commitment to fostering community is what drew many of us to Eagle Crest. This year, we have two NEW programs to connect students, families, and teachers.
Room parents will help teachers find volunteers, collect needed supplies, and keep families up-to-date on school information. The role can be shared with another parent, and much of the work can be done virtually. If interested, please fill out this short form or email Linda at ecptocommunity@gmail.com
The opt-in family directory will share contact information with other class parents, making it easier to schedule play dates or park meet-ups for the class. Sign up to be included.
STAFF GRATITUDE FUND
As our students finish their first full week of school, we are reminded of the incredible work Eagle Crest teachers and staff do to welcome, educate, and include all kids. PTO is collecting donations to provide meals for conferences, late-start treats, monthly surprises in the lounge, Teacher Appreciation Week celebrations and more! If each student raised $10 or more, we would meet our goal! To make a donation of any amount, please visit our fundraising page.
To learn about more fun family events and ways to be involved, subscribe to the PTO newsletter.
Sincerely,
Katie Lancaster, PTO President

SAVE THE DATE - UPCOMING VOLUNTEER TRAININGS
Family volunteers are part of the rich tradition in our community focused school, and we are eager to welcome everyone in to support student learning at Eagle Crest!
This year, we will be offering volunteer training throughout the month of September. This training will be required for adults who would like to volunteer in our classrooms or chaperone on field trips. It will be an opportunity for us to review safety protocols, confidentiality expectations, and some of the routines and procedures in place to help everything run smoothly.
These trainings will be offered at a variety of days and times. We will include Webex Links and more information as we get closer.

ANIMALS ON SCHOOL GROUNDS
We just wanted to touch base with a quick reminder about our furry friends. 🐶🐱 We absolutely adore our four-legged pals, but for the safety and well-being of everyone, we kindly request that we keep our building and playground pet-free zones during school hours. 🏫🌳
Please help us out by not bringing any animals onto the school premises during the day, we really appreciate your help. We totally get that drop-offs and pick-ups can be busy times, but let's aim to leave the pet parade for another time, shall we? 🐾
Of course, there's always an exception to the rule, and that's our incredible service animals like seeing-eye dogs and police dogs. They're the real superheroes, and they're always welcome to join us.
Thanks a million for your understanding and cooperation in this matter. Let's work together to keep our school a safe and happy place for everyone, kids and critters alike! 🌈🐕🐈
IPAD INSURANCE
We are excited to share that for the 2023-2024 school year SVVSD will continue to provide iPads for all K-5th grade students to use for learning at school and home! Preschool students will have access to classroom iPads. Continuing this year, the SVVSD policy is that K-5 families will need to purchase insurance in order to offset costs due to lost or damaged iPads. The district offers iPad insurance for $25/year for each student ($15 for Reduced Fee and $10 for Free Fee Students). We believe that every student at Eagle Crest should opt-in to have iPad insurance as a safety-net for any damage or loss. In order to opt into the district insurance and be covered, you must pay at least a portion of the $25 fee. You can find out more details about the coverage in the links below. The fees are available to pay online in your Infinite Campus Portal account, or you can bring payment directly to Eagle Crest.

LOST & FOUND
At Eagle Crest, we understand that items can sometimes go missing. That's why we have a special cart by the Cafeteria where we gather lost items in the hope of someday reuniting them with their owners. Right now, with the warm weather, the cart tends to collect mainly lunchboxes and water bottles. If you're missing something, feel free to drop by the front office before or after school to take a look. As the weather gets cooler and the Lost & Found Cart fills up, we will sometimes move it to the front of the school at dismissal and you can expect an update in this newsletter. Unfortunately, when things have been lost and forgotten for too long and the cart is overflowing, we have had to donate items. With your help, we can keep the Lost & Found empty and all belongings reclaimed!
LUNCH MENU
You can now find the monthly Lunch Menu at LINQCONNECT. This online system allows you to filter for allergens and see the Breakfast Menu. You change between Breakfast and Lunch in the upper left hand corner.
SPECIALS COLOR DAY ROTATION
Eagle Crest's specials follow a three-day rotation: RED, YELLOW, PURPLE. Every month, a new calendar is provided, outlining the rotation. This helps your family plan and ensure the right shoes are ready for PE activities.
