Meet Our staff:
Neil Grimes joined the Cheng Library staff in October of 2019 as the Education and Curriculum Materials Librarian. He is responsible for managing the Curriculum Materials Center and supports the training and preparation of pre-service teachers, current educators, and the academic and scholastic endeavors of faculty in the College of Education and working proactively to identify, find, and promote the effective use of PK-12 curriculum resources. He is also involved in outreach activities such as the Real Men Read initiative and support for National History Day to PK-12 schools in the Paterson School District and other districts in the northern New Jersey region. Patricia Moore is a Library Assistant working in the Curriculum Materials Center for over 26 years. She maintains the collection, displays, and bulletin boards for education topics. Patricia will help you find books and activities for lesson plans and has created many bibliographies in education subject areas that are available in print and on our web page. She is a member of the Social Media team in the library and has developed digital displays using Smore to promote the CMC. Patricia is qualified to give one on one instruction and workshops with the CRICUT computerized die cutting machine. CRICUT is a useful tool to create professional-looking posters, displays, and bulletin boards. Appointments can be made via phone or email. She has an interest in arts and science and has spent time researching STEAM projects and kits for teaching.

Booklists from the Curriculum Materials Center: Academic Subjects
This resource guide identifies lists of teaching resources and juvenile books that are available from the Curriculum Materials Center of the Cheng Library. The guides are broken down into three tabs Academic Subjects, Professional Subjects, and Children's literature. All bibliographies are in pdf format and can be downloaded, print copies are available in the CMC. WPUNJ Education Faculty please feel free to suggest any topic not covered that would be helpful for your education students to either Neil Grimes or Patricia Moore.

American Civil Rights Movement
The struggle by African Americans to fight for equal rights and freedom from racial discrimination came to its peak in the 1950s to late 1960s. This mass protest or “Civil Rights Movement” was sometimes referred to as the Second Reconstruction Period. This is an annotated list of materials that can be used in the K-12 classroom.
