Principal's Message
Sunny Heights families,
Good evening this is Principal Bart Lewis with the weekly update. I have been very impressed with,and it warms my heart to see how engaged in Learn at Home activities our students have been. I have been able to see examples of some great work being done and also a lot of fun! It is also great to see so many students and some family members during the many Zoom meetings too! This is certainly a difficult time for all, but coming together is bringing out our best. I’d like to give a great big THANK YOU to all of our students, families, and everyone else that shared their appreciation for our teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week. Remember that we do not need to limit showing teacher’s how much they mean to us to just one week a year! I would also like to continue giving thanks to all our nurses, doctors, health care workers, and all other frontline workers during this time that out
Registration for Kindergarten and Preschool in Warren Township is currently open. A reminder that children must be age 5 on or before September 1 to register for Kindergarten and age 3 on or before September 1 to register for Preschool. If you are experiencing any issues with online registration, please contact us at 317-608-0545 or email msdwarrenelearning@warren.k12.in.us. We will be happy to assist you in registering your child online. In other Technology news, we are excited to offer opportunities for you to learn the technology utilized by your student(s) so that you can better support them in their Learn at Home/E-Learning Experience. We are offering support with Zoom, Google, Seesaw, and the Canvas Parent App. Register to join live learning Sessions with Q&A. Pre-recorded tutorials are also available. Report Cards for Term 3
As a parent or guardian of a student attending a Warren school, you have online access to your child or children's courses, grades, attendance, discipline, and academic history. The student and parent portal has been upgraded to Tyler SIS Student 360. This new portal offers parents, students and district staff online access to student information via the Web on PCs or tablets or on a smartphone application -- providing comprehensive functionality with a touch-friendly, intuitive interface. Playworks @ Home Resources
Playworks has for over 24 years focused on bringing games and activities to schools, while creating a safe and healthy recess for students. We are now, more than ever, committed to responding to the need for continued healthy activities at home through several resources we are offering for free:
Play at Home Webpage: A library of videos and other resources featuring games and activities families can play at home. Each meeting the CDC requirements of social distancing and limited equipment. All available free on the Play at Home webpage
Play at Home Playbook: This game guide has a variety of games and activities families can do in their own home, with little to no equipment necessary.
Live Virtual Recess: A Playworks Coach leading a morning warm-up, a midday game, and an afternoon cooldown each day. Anyone can tune into Facebook Live Monday- Friday at 12:00pm, 2:00pm, and 4:00pm EST and play along.
