A Message from the Administrative Team
Greenwood Students and Families:
The annual Halloween parade and senior skit will occur on Monday, October 30th beginning at 1:15 pm in the Event Center. Parents are invited. The elementary students will be in costume – as will the senior class. Costumes for grades 6-11 are not allowed. The elementary classes will have their classroom party following the presentation in the Event Center.
Cooler temperatures will mean a lot more coats, hats, jackets, etc. coming to school and therefore the possibility of the misplacement of one of these items. Please write your student’s name on ALL their belongings so we can return the items to the proper person.
Congratulations to all the fall sport athletes and coaches. Tennis had a wonderful season! Thank you to Coach Alex Wiley for his continued efforts in our tennis program. Our volleyball team won their first post season game in districts! Congratulations to Coach Bailey Brashers and the team!
Eva Heideman and Anna McQueary represented the girls golf team well at state, thank you for Coach Jeff Tebbenkamp! Boys Swimming, Cross Country, and Boys Soccer are preparing for post season play, we wish them the best of luck! The participation and involvement of Greenwood students in activities is a strength of our student body. Nearly 70% of high school students participated in a fall sport activity. This is a great reflection on our students, coaches, and parents who encourage participation in activities.
The end of the quarter is upon us, and conference opportunities are coming up. There will be NO classes on October 31 and November 1 to allow all teachers adequate time to meet with parents. We encourage you to communicate with your students’ instructors whether you schedule a conference or not. We appreciate the extra time it takes to prepare for those conferences and welcome all into the building during those days. Do not forget to sign up, teachers will be sending out sign-up opportunities.
Have a great weekend!
