These workshops will express the magical possibilities Irit Dulman (Israel) identifies hidden in felt and nature. According to her renown vision and mastering unique creative methods, she will teach and demonstrate how to use natural resourced for felting, printing and dyeing coats and jackets with plants, in a modern design based on folkore patterns and templates

Summary of the workshop (when registrating you will get the full description and materiallist) We shall learn the botanical print technique and the principles of natural dyeing by working on samples. After day 2 we will discuss the various results and what caused them. Every student will then choose a preferred dyeing method and materials combination for the project. In day 3 and 4 we will begin to consider a pattern for the garment by exploring traditional folkloristic patterns around the world. Choosing the pattern and applying the modifications that will convert it to an up-to-date stylish clothing. Starting to lay out and Felting. At the end of day 4 the white coats will be done.

At day 5 we will do the printing, dyeing and touch ups for the coat.

Irit Dulman works in her studio in Givatayim, just outside TLV, but her inspiration seems to lack borders of time and place. Her colours, textures and designs are sensually bold, seductive, introvert as well as daring. There is nothing obvious in her work, for it has it’s own reason and feminine insight.

All workshops are being taught in Dutch and/or English. We will serve fresh coffee and homemade lunches with healthy salades, farmers bread and several Dutch cheeses.
