WBMSHS Principal Update to Families
Weeks of 10/24/22 - 11/4/22
There have been quite a few events held over the last few weeks and we thank you for your support of each of them. It is hard to believe that today brings the close to term one. Be on the lookout for report cards which will be posted to Aspen on November 10th.
You should have received an email from me with information about parent conferences. The information sent is also included in this newsletter. I encourage parents & guardians of any students who have been struggling academically, socially or emotionally this first quarter to make appointments with your child's teachers and/or counselors so we can work together to make improvements for them.
As the holiday season arrives please let us know if there is anything we can do to assist any families in need.
Lastly, our fall sports season has come to an end and the playoffs are here. We hope you are able to come out and support our student-athletes in the tournament.
Have a great weekend.

2023 Yearbook
GO HERE Yearbook Forever - WBHS TO PURCHASE PERSONAL ADS & YEARBOOKS or TO UPLOAD PHOTOS
Please note:
Seniors do not need to buy a yearbook - they receive their own personalized copy through class dues
Parent ads are due no later than December 23rd
All ads must be submitted online through this website - we do not accept paper copies or emails
We need your help! The more pictures you submit (think oldies, sports, spirit week, senior candids) the better the book will look! Access code for uploading photos is weebeewildcats02379.
You can also access the yearbook page directly from the WBHS website by clicking "Yearbook Orders" at the top of the page
While every effort will be made to avoid errors, it must be understood that the yearbook is a student production
Feel free to contact the yearbook advisors with any questions: Mrs. DeLorenzo sdelorenzo@wbridgewater.com & Mrs. DeSimone edesimone@wbridgewater.com

A sneak peek into MSHS Classes!
Fine Arts and Technology
Did you know? As part of our 8th grade exploratory rotation, students spend a term in Art class with Mr. Stanfa. His class is truly an exploration of art as students work on projects in the areas of illustration, observation drawings and sculpture. Students get a much-deserved break from their rigorous academics and get to express their creativity. This exploratory also helps students get some of the foundational skills they’ll need if they choose to sign up for Art I in high school.
Mrs. Edgar's Computer Science Principles class visited outer space last week as they took a virtual field trip to learn about Chandra, NASA's premier X-Ray space telescope. Students joined a small group Zoom meeting with an engineer who works on the projects. Similar to the Hubble Telescope, Chandra gives us a powerful tool to investigate hot regions of the Universe, from black holes, to exploding stars, colliding galaxies and more. Students were given a backstage pass to the Operations Control Center, a VR tour of the Chandra spacecraft itself, and we even took a (virtual) quick trip to some exploding stars in our own galaxy. Students had an opportunity to directly chat with the engineers and have many of their questions answered.
Over in the music wing, the band has taken the show on the road! Band students have been leaving the confines of the classroom and practicing outside to prepare for the Veterans Day Parade. You can check them out live at the parade on Friday, November 11 at 10am, right in the center of town.
Students had a great time on their annual Halloween walk to the elementary schools. All the kiddos, both young and "older" had smiles on their faces.
Community Service Requirement Reminders!
Attention all SENIORS!
As you know, West Bridgewater has a graduation requirement that involves the participation and completion of community service. All students must meet the 20 hour minimum requirement before the completion of senior year.
Visit guidance for community service opportunities and assistance with finding meaningful ways to pay it forward and to help our community.
Middle school students had an assembly with Admissions Counselor, Derek Ferris, from Southeastern. Students learned about the admission process and had the opportunity to ask questions.
Clubs and Activities News
NHS held another successful Trunk or Treat. NHS members did an incredible job outfitting their trunks. They raised over $2,000 for their scholarship fund.
Thank you to all of our WB Fall Sport Captains who volunteered their time to read to the 4th and 5th graders and also answer questions from the 6th graders at the Howard Elementary school!
Global Citizens & National Spanish Honor Society
In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month and Día De Los Muertos, the Global Citizens Club created a community Ofrenda. An ofrenda is an altar that is constructed in memory of our loved ones who have passed on. Students and teachers placed pictures of their loved ones and items that represent them.
MS assembly that held a doughnut eating contest, wrap a mummy contest & announce the pumpkin contest winners!

A Message from Ann Marie Grinder, Food Service Director
Greetings from the MSHS Wildcat Café! A few highlights for November include roast turkey with all the trimmings in honor of Thanksgiving on 11/9 and a special brunch menu for the early dismissal days before Thanksgiving break.
Just a reminder that both breakfast and lunch are free this school year! The WB Food Services link has more info and menus.
Each student is offered 1 free breakfast and 1 free lunch per day. Extra entrées are $2.00 and additional a la carte items such as bottled water, cookies, crackers and ice cream can also be purchased but a student must have money on their lunch account for these extras. All items served meet strict state and federal nutrition standards. Money can be added to a student’s account two ways:
· Cash or a check can be brought to the cashier at arrival or towards the end of a meal. To keep the line moving as quickly as possible, we no longer accept money in the line.
· Electronic payments using MySchoolBucks. You will need your student’s 10-digit student ID (SASID#) to set up an account. Even if you don’t add money using MySchoolBucks, it allows you to monitor cafeteria transactions until they graduate!
We are looking to hire additional cafeteria substitutes. Interested individuals can contact me at agrinder@wbridgewater.com or at (508)894-1220.
Thank you,
Ann Marie Grinder, Food Service Director
