Husky Howler 10/27/23 (Guardians)
We are the PACK!
Smiley Thoughts
PACK Guardians,
We had a great Red Ribbon Week this year with lots of student participation in the different themes. We appreciate you partnering with us to help inform your student about the risks and consequences of drugs. Keep holding our ladder and we will help hold yours! Here are two VERY important reminders:
HOT DOG SUPPER - One week from today, from 5-7pm we will have our biggest FAMILY event of the year. We want to see YOU and your Husky for this awesome experience that we are working hard to put together. Here are some important things to know and this awesome AGENDA tells you even more!
- This is a FAMILY event, not for students to be dropped off at without a guardian. Come meet some people, watch a performance, and get involved!
- Students need to go home at the end of the day as normal. We do not keep students from 3:45 to 5:00pm.
- There is a $10 entrance fee for an arm band for STUDENTS (K-8th) to participate. Guardians are FREE to come enjoy watching students participate. You can pay cash or card at the event or online through the PTA website.
- Food will be for purchase and include hot dogs, Chickfila, and concessions.
- Parking will be pretty limited so you will most likely have to park around the perimeter of Hubbard or in the neighborhood.
- We would love for you to signup online to volunteer!
Student Assemblies - This week we met with all grade levels to reiterate expectations for our Hubbard Huskies. In addition to thanking the students who are doing the right thing, we covered the following topics.
- Dress code
- Vapes
- Cafeteria expectations
- Grades and summer school possibility
- Restricted items - Teddy bears, blankets, balloons, electronics, sports balls, etc.
Halloween Costumes - Students may dress up for halloween BUT they may not wear masks that cover their face, full face paint, or something that impedes them functioning in the normal school day such as a large inflatable. We want to have fun, but also continue learning. Students may not bring any accessories that resemble weapons. Administration will take up any items deemed inappropriate or distracting.
Student pictures - Who takes the BEST student pictures? MOMS AND DADS! We want YOUR awesome pictures to utilize in our yearbook for this year. I have created a google folder that you can upload them into. This has many folders inside for the different events we have had including the first day of school, sporting events, new student orientation/open house, theater, cheer, 6th grade social, homecoming, etc. Please utilize this google folder to upload your pictures!
***Repeat***
Absences - We have seen an uptick in guardians trying to turn in absence documentation very late. We are required to have that documentation within three days of the absence. Please make sure to send us your doctor's note or other excuses ASAP. You can always email them to hubbardattendance@tylerisd.org
Lunch charges - Please check this Hubbard Lunch list for your child's student ID. If their ID is on the list, then you previously qualified for free lunch but we do not have a current application. You will now begin being charged for lunches. Please go online and fill out the application through food services.

A huge thank you to the staff and members of Church of the Pines and Shiloh Church of Christ for valuing Hubbard Middle School teachers and treating them each month.
