OTES Update
OTES for 2015-16 - The following information is the OTES guidelines that the district will be operating under for the 2015-16 school year.
- All forms will be online at the eTPES website. Teachers will have a login in and PIN generated by the website.
The evaluation is required to be completed by May 1, 2016 with a final written evaluation in the teacher’s hands by May 10, 2016.
The evaluation will be broken into two areas:
50% Teacher Performance on Standards (Rubric)
50% Student Growth Measures (each teacher will be required to write one Student Learning Objective [SLO])
Observations and walk-throughs will begin after the October 16th in-service.
The SLO is to be turned into your evaluator by November 2, 2015.
Feedback will be given on the SLO by the evaluator and shall be approved by November 16, 2015.
A summary of the outcomes of the SLO student measure is due to the evaluator by April 15, 2016.
Professional development will be provided on the 16th of October for developing student learning objectives, writing a professional growth plan and how the teacher performance standards rubric is assessed.
Each teacher will be required to write a Professional Growth Plan due to your evaluator by December 1, 2015.
No OTES evaluation is needed if a teacher tenders their retirement letter and the board accepts it not later than December 1st. All of our administrators have been trained and credentialled and should be able to assist you during this process.

eTPES Login
If you have previously accessed eTPES (Dustin, Laura, and Christie) you may have this question.
Q: I can’t remember my username and password. How can I log in?
A: If you do not remember your username and/or password, go to the login screen (www.ohiotpes.com) and click on the forgot username and/or forgot password link(s). You will be prompted to enter your email address and state id. You must enter the email address set up in eTPES (your school email address). If you do not know your state id, there is a link on the screen. If the email address you entered does not match the email address in eTPES or the state id you entered is invalid, you will receive an error message. Please verify the information you entered or contact your district or building Administrator and request that your eTPES account be updated with the correct information.
OTES this Week and Next
Next week I will begin the formal observations. If you have a burning desire to be evaluated next week please let me know tomorrow early, or otherwise I will begin scheduling pre-conferences, observations, and post-conferences by sending you google invitations.
Please remember to be flexible as I have 92 round 1 meetings and 46 round 1 walk-throughs.
All NRES staff except 3rd grade will be evaluated by me. I've already spoken with 3rd grade teachers.
