We hope you had a fabulous summer and are ready to get into the swing of things here at Brackenridge High School! This newsletter will contain many of the useful resources that SAISD provides to enhance and integrate 21st Century learning into our campuses.

You can access the S-Drive resources and Library calendar on Outlook 365. If you have not done so already, please send a request to join this group.

The district has made the final push out for the Single Sign On (SSO) logins. This will eliminate the need for students/teachers to have to log into multiple software platforms, as well as, give the students and teachers the ability to reset their own passwords. Watch the video below to learn more. Make sure to submit any issues you may have with the SSO to Tamara Holcomb.

For teachers needing to look up student usernames, please use the Student Account Manager (SAM) and enter your SAISD credentials.

Performance Matters is the new system that will manage your T-Tess evaluations and where you will register for future Professional Development. Please note that your Professional Development credits did not transfer into the new system.

Here's the form you can use to connect your personal devices you have to the SAISD Mobile network. Make sure that you have connected and turned on all of your technology to ensure that it is fully functioning and connected to the network.

You can no longer send helpdesk emails to complete work orders. Please complete your work orders in SAISD Heat.

Below is a list of our district approved software applications. Check out this site for training and PD for these specific applications. If you would like to request additional software or applications, please submit it here.

As our students become more familiar with 21st Century tools, they are looking for resources that can help enhance their opportunities to learn. Please consider managing your own district website. Click here for some helpful tutorials. You will need to register your website with bwehring1@saisd.net.

If you are a new teacher in SAISD, you automatically qualify for the 2018-2019 $100 New Teacher grants.

Also, any teacher has the opportunity to apply for a $5oo mini grant (due in October), or the larger $5000 Innovative grant (due in February).

We make it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need, moving us closer to a nation where students in every community have the tools and experiences they need for a great education. Here are some of the recent recipients of a DonorsChoose Grant.

Infographics make data and processes accessible and memorable. Choose from a 100+ infographic templates on Venngage and follow these steps to create your own infographics. Look at the examples below and talk to your Librarian about creating an anchor chart for your content!

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Positive Behavior​ Interventions and Support (PBIS) is a framework for defining, teaching, encouraging, and maintaining appropriate positive behavior in students and staff. PBIS is a three-tiered research-based process. The first tier, Universal Supports, is effective for approximately 80% of students and focuses on school-wide procedures and common areas. Teachers can use the "PBIS Rewards" app to digitally assign points.

This will be my 4th year as a Librarian at Brackenridge High School. Previously, I taught science at Poe Middle School where my passion for instructional technology began to flourish and led to me my role as a 21st Century educator in SAISD.
