Free MAD Science Classes in SPANISH!

We are thrilled to be offering MAD Science free of charge this year to our students. This class takes place after school from 3 - 4 pm every Thursday for four weeks (10/7, 10/14, 10/21, & 10/28). Throughout the year we will have multiple sessions for different grade levels. This first session will be offered to first and second grade students only. Class space is limited to 30 students so we will have a lottery system to determine which students will get a space. Families of first and second graders, please fill out this form by September 20 if you would like your child entered into the lottery for a spot.

A Message from PTA:

The fall festival planning committee has an upcoming meeting this Wednesday, September 22, at 6 pm. This meeting will be a zoom-only meeting, not in person. We will be discussing the festival layout, the addition of booths, silent auction updates, and more. Here are the agenda and the Zoom links.

All parents and community members are welcome to join, and the help is greatly appreciated. We expect this to be an enormous event welcoming thousands of kids, parents, and community members.

If you are a business or know of a company that would like to donate and advertise their business at the festival, please reach out. We will also include the company in the yearbook's Thank You to Sponsors page.

Keep an eye out for your classroom teacher/representative reaching out for specific help with your child's class booth or silent auction basket.

We need volunteers selling pre-sale tickets at JMMS, CELC, and SHES. If you are available to volunteer a half-hour of your time, we would greatly appreciate it. You will have a PTA board member present with you. Please click on this link to sign up.

If you know of any high school or middle schoolers who need community service, they can get six hours of service to help set up, do miscellaneous tasks during the festival and help tear down. Please get in touch with Sara Castorena at: sarabloomcalifas@yahoo.com. We need all the help we can get, and it's an excellent opportunity for those who need the hours.

Lastly, we need bags of candy donated to your student's classrooms. Candy is collected as a campus and distributed the night of by volunteers to ensure each booth has enough candy for all their visitors.
