Ascent Academy

This Wednesday is a free dress down day. Students may wear jeans, t-shirts, athletic pants, etc. As always, clothing must be modest, no holes, rips or tears, and nothing offensive.

Picture Day is September 6th! Lifetouch will be taking individual portraits and class pictures. These are the pictures that will be in the yearbook. Students must be in uniform. If your student is absent on picture day, they will still be able to have their picture taken on picture retake day on November 1st. A class picture is included in any individual package purchased automatically. However, if you ONLY want to buy a class picture, you will need to use Picture Day ID EVTXR8B2T.

MONDAY - The boys soccer game was rescheduled for September 5th at 4:00 pm.

WEDNESDAY - Girls volleyball home game at 4:00 pm

WEDNESDAY - Boys soccer game at Lincoln Prep Academy at 4:00 pm.

We will be doing background checks at the school this Thursday from 2:00 to 3:00 pm. If you need to get a background check to volunteer at the school or chaperone a field trip, stop by and get it taken care of then. Volunteer background checks cost $31.25. If your child has a medical diagnosis such as (diabetes, seizures, ADD/ADHD, Asthma, Anaphylaxis/Allergies) etc. (or any medical condition resulting in the need for medication administration throughout the school day) Please reach out to the school nurse to get a care plan in place! These care plans need to be renewed every year, so if you had one in the previous school year we need ALL NEW forms. Please reach out to Jamie RN BSN - jromney@ascentutah.org to get these forms and/or to ask any questions in regards to your child's medical needs.

Ascent Academy is a dress code based school which means Monday - Thursday when students are in school they will need to be in uniform attire.

Our uniform items can be purchased from any retailer such as Target, Walmart, TrueValue, Children's Place, Old Navy, Kohls, French Toast, etc.

Elementary Student Tops - must be a collared, polo-style shirt (long sleeve or short sleeve) and must adhere to the following requirements.

• Color: Navy blue, white or Kelly green (not neon or hunter green).

Junior High Student Tops - must be a collared, polo-style shirt (long sleeve or short sleeve) and must adhere to the following requirements.

• Color: Any solid color.

*Shirts must be logo-free or bear the Ascent Academies of Utah logo (which at this time we do not sell or offer).

Undershirts can only be WHITE t-shirts (short or long sleeved) and may be worn under short-sleeved polo shirts.

Bottoms include pants, shorts, skirts or jumpers and must adhere to the following requirements:

• Color: Navy or khaki
• Style: Docker-style or school uniform style
  
• Skirts, shorts and jumpers must be no shorter than 3” above the knee.
• Polo top dresses may be worn in navy blue, white or kelly green
  

WHITE or NAVY tights or footless leggings may be worn under skirts, shorts or jumpers, however, the length requirement noted above still applies. Leggings may not be worn on their own as pants. *No holes, rips or tears in pants.

Socks must be free from holes, tears and/or any inappropriate or vulgar messaging but can be any color, style, print or pattern.

Shoes - must meet the following requirements.

• Closed toe (flip-flops, sandals, etc. are not allowed)
• No wheels
• Heels must be less than 1” in height

Friday Attire - students may wear uniform bottoms or jean pants/shorts WITH a spirit shirt.

*If a student does not own a spirit shirt, they may wear jeans with a uniform top (polo). Reminder that pants/jeans with hole are never allowed. If a student wears jean shorts on Friday, the shorts must be no shorter than 3” above the knee.

Spirit shirts are available for purchase in the school office and in the school store on our website.
