Dear Reedy Lion Families,

I want to take a moment to make you aware of a disturbing new trend that is impacting Frisco ISD schools and campuses across the state and nation. A viral social media challenge circulating on TikTok promotes the idea of defacing, relocating and stealing school property. Examples of items being targeted are soap dispensers, mirrors, parts of toilets, exit signs, etc. The other part of the trend is to leave destruction behind in the affected space. This is happening at Reedy High School and is very serious.

The District will press charges and seek financial restitution when individuals participating in this destruction are identified. The District is actively reviewing camera footage taken outside of the locations where destruction of property has been found. Please take some time today to talk with your student about the seriousness of this issue and the severity of the consequences.

If you or your student have any information regarding these incidents, please contact RHS@friscoisd.org or submit a STOPit report. Together, we can make sure that our campus stays a safe and secure place for all students.

REMINDER: IPR2 (6 Week Mark of 1st 9 Weeks) ends on Friday-September 24th

Please continue monitoring HAC Home Access Center to see your student's current progress in their classes. Students and parents will receive an IPR2 update/notification of student progress on Friday - October 1st. At that time, for the 1st 9 Weeks only, students participating in extracurricular activities can LOSE eligibility for their IPR2 Grade (6 Week Mark), based on UIL guidelines. Please make sure your student(s) are mindful of the IPR2 - 6 Week mark of the 1st 9 Week Grading period. In addition, students participating in extracurricular activities can LOSE/GAIN eligibility at the end of the 1st 9 Weeks which ends on October 8th.

If your student is a DRIVER and needs to be dismissed from school early, please use the "Report an Absence" link located at the top of the Reedy High School webpage or send an email to RHSAttendance@friscoisd.org.

• Email must be sent at least 60 minutes before your student's release time in order to allow the front office enough time to process the request.

• The email of the parent requesting a driver's dismissal must match the email we have on file or we cannot release the student.
• Dismissed drivers must check out at Reception/Front Office before leaving campus.

If your student is a NON-DRIVER, in person check out is required:

• Please check out your student in person in Main Office
• Bring your ID
• Your student will be called down upon your arrival in the Main Office

TICKET INFORMATION

The payment window for AP Exams is September 7 through November 1, 2021 for full year and fall semester AP courses. Exam fees were posted to student Online School Fees accounts on September 7. Payment finalizes the student’s AP exam registration.

Please make note of this year’s earlier payment deadline of November 1, 2021.

Students not enrolled in an AP course but want to take the AP Exam must contact CCMR Facilitator, Starla Taylor, taylorst@friscoisd.org no later than October 22.

ATTENTION SENIORS: We want to make sure all our seniors are in the yearbook. If you haven't done so already, please visit CADY to make your appointment for senior portraits. Options include:

1. Make an appointment to visit the CADY studio in Grapevine for your senior pictures.

2. Make an appointment to take your senior pictures on Reedy's campus on Thursday, October 7 (September 15 is now full).
   

Both options will include a senior formal yearbook photo, cap and gown photo & a few other less formal photos. Either option has a $30.00 sitting fee.

Student drivers are required to purchase a new FISD parking permit each school year regardless of how many classes they take on campus. Please click on THIS LINK for instructions on how to obtain a 2021-22 parking permit.

• If you have copies of your documents made, please see Mrs. Witkowski in Room A209 to pick up your permit.
• If you're not able to print and/or photocopy at home, please see Mrs. Walkiewicz in the AP Office to make copies before going to A209.
  

Students are NOT permitted to park in the following areas:

• Spaces with a GREEN DOT in front of a parking space are designated as staff only spaces (see photo)

• Visitor spaces

• Bus lanes, red fire lanes & loading zones.
  

• Please be mindful of your speed while driving on campus.

• Parking rules will be enforced daily throughout the day by our parking lot attendant.

Students who qualify for a 2021-22 letter jacket will be contacted by their coach/director throughout the school year. Letter jacket fittings for fall sports will be announced soon. Qualifying students will receive an email with more details regarding fittings and ordering.
