Jarrell ISD Monday Memo
January 29, 2024
Hello Cougars,
We're a few days away from the start of February. February is a busy month where we celebrate Black History, School Counselors, and School Bus Drivers.
February is also Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month. The month-long event is a designated time to recognize and raise awareness about the importance of career and technical education in schools. CTE pathways allow students to apply their classroom knowledge in real-world settings and gain hands-on work experience that can lead to successful careers in various fields upon graduating from high school.
At Jarrell ISD, we have a robust curriculum that offers students classes in agriculture, audio/video technology, business and finance, health science, hospitality and tourism, manufacturing, robotics, engineering technology, and more. We have student chapters of FFA, FCCLA, and leadership organizations to support these programs.
Through CTE pathways, our students can earn industry-based certifications (IBC) that show their skills and knowledge in specific fields. These certifications provide a competitive edge and demonstrate their readiness to enter the workforce directly out of high school.
Career and Technical Education helps students become well-prepared, job-ready individuals who can thrive in the ever-changing world of work.
Now, that's something to celebrate.
