Hey Warriors!
It's been a great week. Some of our juniors and seniors met with Northwest on Thursday and got some great information. They came prepared with questions and were able to learn more about Northwest and what they have to offer.
As we finish up September, we drew names for our character trait winners. These winners are in the picture with their prize! Teachers filled out student shout-out cards for any students who displayed respect in the month of September. These students were Claire Manring, Colby Locklar, Porter Davis, Christopher Smith, Rhett Haynie, Will Berning, Roque Valderrama, Avarie Qualls, Clayton Hardin, Alexa Granger, Keylee Siddens, & Michael McIntosh. Congrats to those students!
The character trait for October is self-control. Teachers will be looking for students who are exhibiting the character trait of self-control. We will draw for winners at the end of October.
On Tuesday, Oct 4th, WashU will be here to talk with any students interested during Warrior Time.
All seniors are allowed two college visits. Please have seniors see me, Mrs. Carlock, if they are planning to go on a college visit.
Our district ACT test is coming up on October 18th. There are flashcards available to check out outside of Mrs. Carlock's office is any one would like to check them out.
Due to the rescheduling of varsity football to Oct 20th, we have moved the FASFA Frenzy to Oct 17th at 6pm. We hope seniors can come out and learn about paying for college!

Important Information About Student Academics
Parent/ Teacher Conferences are October 24th from 12-7PM in the new gym. Teachers will be set up at tables and be available to talk about student concerns and celebrate student successes. We would love for every student to have a parent or guardian come to conferences. You will be receiving a letter and more information about this in the upcoming weeks. For planning purposes, we ask you give us an approximate arrival time. Please take a moment to reserve a time using the link below.
Attendance is an important part of academic success. We require 90% attendance to be eligible but there is an appeals process if something unforeseen were to occur. Letters were sent home today for students who are not eligible because of attendance. For more information on this, please talk to your child's coach or call the office.
Grade checks will be the following dates 1st semester. You will be notified if there are concerns. There are tutoring options available. If you have any questions about grades, please contact your child's teacher.

December 9th and 21st
Per our handbook policy, after the 6th tardy, students will serve an after school detention. Please see the disciplinary section of the handbook for more information about our tardy policy.
