Message from the Principal
JAJHS Families,
As we wrap up our first full week of the school year, I want to take a moment to share how impressed I am with our opening few days! Our kids are fantastic! Thank you for sending us such a responsible, fun and respectful group of kids. One of my favorite parts of my job is watching a new school year unfold: new friendships being formed, returning students welcoming new students, classroom cultures being established and new learning and exploring beginning!
Around the building, we are starting to move into some deeper content and engaging activities. Our incredible team of teachers is excited to lead our students through their junior high experience!
As I shared at our orientation meetings, we are committed to making this year a positive time for our kids. Our students have adapted well to the expectations surrounding cell phones, planners, dress code, backpacks and Canvas. I am really proud of how well our students have approached this school year.
Please be on the lookout for grade-level team updates over the next week or so. These updates will give you a sneak peek at the upcoming topics and units that students will be covering in each grade and subject. We hope you find this a valuable way to stay connected.
Thank you again for the chance to work with your child. We are looking forward to a great year!
Sincerely,
Ryan Malany
Principal

Parking Lot Procedures for Car Riders
Morning Drop-Off Reminders
Please use the entrance closest to the old football field. Slowly follow the cones around the gravel lot. Please pull up to the sign if there is space in front of your car. This allows multiple cars to unload at a time and prevents back-up. Exit through the middle entrance.
Afternoon Pick-Up Reminders:
Please use the entrance closest to the old football field. The line will form alongside the building. Please stay to the left in the lane closest to the building. Once your student has loaded, carefully pull to the right lane and exit the parking lot. As the pick-up lane backs up, you will be directed to form additional new lines to the right. Please wait in line and avoid cutting in front of other cars.
Thank you for your help in getting our students in and out of the building in a safe and efficient manner!
Message from the District Nurse
Parents/Guardians of 7th graders:
Please turn in Immunization records showing your 7th grader received the required TDAP and Meningitis Vaccines or an Exemption Form, if necessary. You can fax the records to the junior high office at 614-873-0845, email them to maloonle@japioneers.org or bring the paperwork to the junior high office.
Reminders from JAJHS Office
Medications at School
Sometimes parents ask that school personnel administer medication to their child during the school day. When this is necessary, we require written permission and instructions from the parent and in some instances from the doctor.
The required form “Distribution/Student Use of Medicines/Medications” must be completed and turned in to the junior high office with the medication to be administered.
School Fees
The school fees for 7th and 8th grade can be paid online using MyPaymentsPlus or you can bring cash or check to the school office. The fees are $30 per student for the 2022-2023 school year.
