Fulton Focus
For the parents and patrons of the Fulton School District
August 19, 2022
It is almost time! We welcomed all new and veteran staff back to FPS yesterday and ended the day with Secondary School Open Houses and popsicles on the playground with kindergarteners. There is a tremendous amount of excitement and it is going to be a great year. Be sure to review the information in the focus and we look forward to seeing all our students on Wednesday.
Thank you for sharing your students with us. It’s always a great day to be a Hornet!

Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP)
As part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the President and Congress created the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), which provides eligible households up to $30/month (or $75/month for households living on Tribal lands) toward their internet bills, as well as a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet.
All households with a child who was approved to receive free or reduced price school meals under the National School Lunch Program or the School Breakfast Program, within the last 12 months, including children who attend schools participating in the Community Eligibility Provision, are eligible for ACP benefits. Households are also independently eligible if (1) their income is at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level ($55,500 for a family of four); or (2) a member of the household participates in certain other Federal benefit programs—including, among others, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), Medicaid, and Federal Public Housing Assistance.
To further lower costs, the Biden-Harris Administration secured commitments from internet service providers across the country to offer high-speed plans that are fully covered by the ACP. As a result, millions of working families can now get high-speed internet without paying a dime.
Families can check their eligibility, sign up, and find fully covered plans at GetInternet.gov (mobile-accessible and available in Spanish) or by calling 877-384-2575.
About 13 million households have enrolled, but tens of millions more have not yet claimed their ACP benefit. We need your help to ensure all eligible families in your State sign up to save on their internet bills.
To support your efforts, please feel free to use the following resources:
- GetInternet.gov—a one-stop shop to learn about ACP, check eligibility, enroll, and find fully covered internet plans.
- ACP Outreach Toolkit—outreach materials from the Federal Communications Commission, including sample factsheets, flyers, PSAs, text messages, social media posts, and more.
- Outreach partners can request the pre-qualification widget to embed on their own websites by emailing ACProgram@usac.org with the subject line “ACP Widget" for technical support. In the email, please include the web address where you plan to add the widget. The interactive widget includes questions to check eligibility and apply for ACP.
- White House Fact Sheet on the ACP and its benefits.
Additionally, please note that this benefit is not considered income for purposes of determining eligibility for free and reduced-price school meals.
Food and Nutrition Services appreciates the exceptional efforts of schools to assist families in need through the promotion of programs like the ACP. Together, we can connect those we serve to a support network that bolsters families and communities.
Important Info on Communications!
Please make sure your email address and phone number are correct in your Parent Portal. In addition to providing correct contact information, FPS needs you to complete one more step so you can receive text messages. Please text Y or Yes to 67587 to Opt-in.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. Communication is a vital part of the school experience!
School Violence Tip Line
Student and Parents Frequently Asked Questions
Why make a report?
The purpose of Courage2Report is to prevent school violence. IF the situation is not an emergency, AND you want to remain a confidential reporter, Courage2Report will ensure proper authorities are notified.
Reporting school violence is important! It is not snitching or tattling to report someone who is planning to hurt classmates or school staff. You may be saving lives and helping your friend or classmate get the help they need. If you hear or see something that makes you think someone's life is in danger,
- Call 911.
- Talk to someone at your school.
- Talk to your parents.
- If you feel you cannot tell an adult, submit a confidential tip to Courage2ReportMO. You do not need to leave your name.
How does Courage2Report work?
It is safe and simple! Anyone can report school violence concerns to trained, friendly analysts by one of three ways -- mobile app, online form, or phone call. The analyst will create a report of your concern and forward the information immediately. A copy of the report is e-mailed to law enforcement and the school district official. Local law enforcement and the school district officials will determine how to most appropriately handle the situation.
Who can submit a tip to Courage2Report?
Anyone can SUBMIT A TIP to Courage2Report. Courage2Report accepts TIPS from students, parents, school personnel, and concerned citizens. You can submit a tip using the mobile app, online form, or by phone call (calls are always FREE in the United States). You never have to give your name because calls are confidential.
Is Courage2Report a statewide service?
Yes, Courage2Report is a reporting mechanism for the entire state of Missouri. Courage2Report accepts tips concerning any public or private schools in Missouri, pre-kindergarten - 12th grade. We take reports occurring on school property, at a school event, on the school bus, at the bus stop, and on the way to and from school.
Does the reporter have to give their name?
No, reporters never have to leave their name and can always remain confidential.
If I call Courage2Report, am I speaking to a real person?
Courage2Report is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. When you SUBMIT A TIP, professional and friendly analysts PROCESS TIPS and gather information to send reports. If the incident of school violence requires immediate attention, call 911.
If I SUBMIT A TIP to Courage2Report, what information will I be required to give?
Courage2Report will ask you to give the name or describe the person. If you can give names, grades, and the location of the people involved, including any victims, targets, or witnesses, this is very helpful. Analysts will also need the name of the school and the city where the incident has occurred or is occurring. No one will require you to give your name.
Analysts ask questions about the incident of school violence:
What happened? When did it happen? Where did it occur? Did anyone see or hear what happened? Analysts try to obtain as much information as possible so that a complete report can be sent to local school officials and law enforcement.
Is there any follow up? How do I know if a situation is resolved?
Courage2Report analysts follow up on each report in approximately 7 days after the original call.
Follow-up surveys will be sent to schools and law enforcement to rate their Courage2Report experience. Courage2Report is a public service, and the staff wants to provide the best possible service for students and concerned adults.
