ATHLETIC NEWS
A letter from Coach Koch to all the Football boys, and the Cheer girls, who played their hearts out in Kerrville Friday Night.
Football game Friday Night vs. Our Lady of the Hills High School - Kerrville, TX.
Hi Celtic Football and Cheer Families- sometimes you don't win, but a moment warms your heart so much that that moment is a win and you have to let everyone know about it !!!!
Well Friday night at the Holy Trinity football game that moment arose and to tell you the truth as I write and share this feeling it chokes me up when I tell people . We went into a game against a senior heavy team, with 24 players on the sideline. We had one upperclassman, minutes into the first quarter we lost that player and had six players left, one that hadn't had much experience on the field and was a freshman. So the loss of the upperclassmen left us with 3 sophomores and 3 Freshmen. When we came into the game I believe (could be wrong) that our guys believed they would be going home at halftime and I think Our Lady believed it too. OLH played their first team defense the whole game because they knew our guys would score against any other team they put out there and their best player # 2 played both ways and was on the field 98% of the time.
Just to be sure you understand 6 HT young men (3 Freshmen & 3 soph.) played on both sides of the ball for 3 quarters against upperclassmen. With no complaining and little rest. But what also was great were our 2 seniors who got hurt last game were on the sideline pumping up their younger teammates, coaches, fans and those young teammates will always remember that. We lost yes and there will be those out there that say that a loss is a loss and that's fine with me as a guy that has been doing this for years this team and this football program didn't lose last night. The guys that played know that and they are the ones that count . They are the nucleus of the future of our program. The guys that cheered them on are the teachers of this programs/groups future and heart. Thanks guys.
Wow and our cheerleaders never gave up on these guys cheering hard down to the last minute, talking about knowing what this is about thanks girls . We may not say it enough but we appreciate you and love you for your unconditional support!!!!
We all could've given up and said why are you even playing/going that far to play to get beat ... like some people did :( that don't understand competition and the grueling hard work these boys and girls put in Weekly (yes sometimes to get beat) well to those of you who said that it was a waste of time and believe you can only win by out-scoring someone, I sure do wish you had been at this game and seen these young men/ players, cheer team, fans and the 2 senior leaders fight all night to make sure OLH and their fans knew HT was not a pushover.
Last note, I am honored and I know our coaching staff is to be coaching these guys, girls and I for sure know our seniors just by their hearts have a great future. Like I said last night "they warmed my heart and lots of others" ( the EMT guy who worked our game came up to me at Whataburger and said "that group of guys played hard and what heart!!!!! " Let these boys know how proud you are of the the way they Glorified Our Lord Jesus Christ last night .
Thanks for letting me coach your student athletes its an honor and I love each and everyone of them for who THEY ARE !!!
Blessings,
A Blessed Head Football Coach

The groups will be separated into a boys group and a girls group, based on interest.

The men's Esto Vir Retreat will be Saturday, November 16th through Sunday, November 17th at Eagle's Wings Retreat Center in Burnet. The cost of the retreat is $40.
Space for this retreat is limited. You must reserve your spot by completing the Holy Trinity permission slip AND the Eagle's Wing's Liability Release form (both available at the front office) as well as submitting $40 to the front office ($40 covers the cost of renting Eagle's Wings retreat center and the food provided to students this weekend). If necessary, we will start a waiting list in case there are more young men who would like to attend than spots available.
The deadline for registering for this retreat is FRIDAY, November 8th. A final list of attendees must be submitted to Eagles Wing's on this day, so November 8th is a FIRM deadline.
This retreat is being planned by a dedicated group of Holy Trinity Alumni, in conjunction with Ms.Snyder, and is sure to be a great experience for our young men.

GALA 2020 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The Annual Holy Trinity Gala is the most important fundraiser of the year. We invite you to consider being a part of the fun by joining our dynamic team of volunteers. Below are two areas we are in need of volunteers for:
* Class Baskets: In past years, each class (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior) makes a "basket" for the Gala. It's approaching that time of year again and we are in need of parents for each grade level to help organize and oversee the creation of the class baskets.
***We auction all 4 class "baskets" at the Live Auction during the Gala.***
The baskets do really well and are loved by all and are well bid on items at the Gala. They help us make meet our fundraising goal and are essential to the success of our Gala. Come be a part of a special group of families that helps make our Gala special.
* Planning and Coordinating: We are putting together our planning and coordinating teams and would love to invite you to join the fun. There is everything from helping advertise our gala, to decorating, planning the dinner, planning games, helping with the Silent and/or Live Auctions. Everything you do helps our Gala, which helps our school.
Helping with the Celtic Gala is a great way to support Holy Trinity and meet other families and work 'behind the scenes'. If you are interested in being on a Class Basket Team or on the Planning and Coordinating Team (or both!), please contact Mrs. Jordanna Richesin: jrichesin@holytrinitychs.org.
Volunteers in the Community
All families are asked to complete 20 service hours
EIM TRAINING FOR ALL VOLUNTEERS
Ethics and Integrity Ministry (EIM)
In an effort to protect our children, the Diocese of Austin mandates that all individuals who have contact with our children must be in compliance with the Ethics and Integrity in Ministry Policy, which equips each of us with the tools and knowledge to protect our children from possible abuse and perpetrators. All parents MUST complete this process to volunteer at the school.
Registration is required through the Diocese. In order to register for an EIM Workshop, you must first complete the volunteer application which is on their website. Once you have attended the workshop please submit a copy of the certificate to the school office. This workshop is for new parents and those who are in need of the refresher course.
