Our Art classes and club are in need of styrofoam egg cartons and sharpies. You can bring donations to the JH/HS office or send them with your student to take to Mrs. Zimmerman.

Our drum line participated in the Cotton Carnival parade in Sikeston Saturday! They played very well and got a lot of support from the crowd!

The Math Star of the Week Award is given to one high school student a week to award a positive attitude about mathematics. The purpose of the award is to inspire and foster a love for math in the classroom and to be a shining star spreading a positive attitude about math.

Our math star of the week for September 26 was Regan Howe and our star for October 2 was Carson Shearer.

Both of these student have been kind to others and helped other students in math. They are always first to volunteer to work a problem. Thank you Regan and Carson for making our math classroom a happier place.

With Project 10Million, T Mobile is offering help to 10 million eligible households over the next 5 years. With Project 10Million, T Mobile is offering free hotspots with 100GBs of mobile data each year for five years, plus access to at-cost laptops and tablets, to 10 million eligible k-12 students. Enrollment is open through August 30, 2024.

Parents should visit the website to apply. You do NOT have to be a TMobile customer to apply.

Students are allowed to bring a bottle/ cup with a lid of water everyday. We have bottle fillers they can use to refill them throughout the day.

The office does keep bottled water for students when needed. However, so many students have been getting bottled water that we haven't been able to keep up with staying stocked.

Starting Monday, Oct 3rd, the HS office will start charging 25 cents for a bottle of water to help us with purchasing the water.

The 8th grade science class took a trip to the local Byrd Creek. Students have been working on reading topography, mapping watersheds, testing pH, understanding stream properties, and taking micro-invertebrate inventory. An afternoon was spent putting these skills to work, and the students did phenomenal!

It was a bit warm, but the class gathered enough information to formulate a well written report of the local Byrd Creek. The largest organism found was a massive leech.

Oak Ridge Science Department is raising funds for classroom use. We will be selling items at the Oak Ridge Fall Festival on October 15th, from 12:00-5:00 pm. See the flyer for more information about items that will be for sale. To celebrate this special night and make your life easier the FFA is having a pulled pork meal in the AG room (right next to the gym) on Senior Night.
