Weekly Update
October 10th-13th, 2023
It Sure Feels Like Fall...
Schoolwide Updates:
For a short week it sure was a busy one!
We had a great turnout for Open House Wednesday night,
we appreciate all of our families that walked the halls to see
artwork, class projects and writing samples.
We appreciate those that visited with our wonderful PHCS staff members too.
Thursday we had many groups take part in Fire Safety.
Grades UPK-3rd visited the Parishville Fire Station.
Grades 4th-6th stay in school and visited with members of the
Hopkinton- Fort Jackson Fire Station.
Juniors and Seniors your visit is coming up, and
7th-10th Graders we didn't forget you, we have something planned for the Spring.
Friday the 13th... yikes, was School Picture Day.
So exciting to see our kiddos put on their best smile.
Elementary Update:
The Book Fair will be Open Monday and Tuesday for students to shop with their classroom teacher. We appreciate you sharing our love of reading and promoting reading at home with your student.
The weather has shift- Fall rain and cooler temperatures lead up to change up our outerwear and footwear for outdoor play. Please provide a light jacket or sweatshirt and shoes that can get muddy or wet so students can continue to get outside and remain active during the day.
Wellness Update:
We are very proud of our PHCS kiddos for taking on our Wellness Challenge:
...Take a mindful moment in nature while exercising our brains and bodies ...
Nature Walks/Mountain Hikes:
October 10th our 5th and 6th Graders Hiked Mt. Arab- Mr. Brand reports a successful hike!
MS/HS Updates:
On October 10th our 12th Graders led by Ms. Scott and Mr. Spriggs visited St. Lawrence University. Students enjoyed a tour of the SLU campus. After their tour they met with admissions, they were offered lunch on campus. They finished off the trip with a visit to Brewer Bookstore.
Hi PHCS Families- we are still exploring options for Modified, JV and Varsity Basketball programs. Initial information listed Modified and Varsity Sign-Ups and we would like to clarify that we are interested to see which of our athletes are interested in any of the 3 levels of Basketball. We currently have interest in Modified and Varsity, but we would be happy to bring back our JV program too if there is enough student interest.
Please contact Mrs. Liz White, ewhite@phcsd.org if you are interested.
