Dear Field Parents and Guardians,

We hope that you and your family have had a nice week! Please be sure to review the Halloween information posted below in this newsletter. We look forward to connecting with parents during next week's parent-teacher conferences!

A few reminders:

• Recess is most often outdoors - please ensure your children are dressed for the cooler weather.

• October 15th is the deadline for submitting physical exam/vaccine records for students in kindergarten and new students, as well as eye exams for students in kindergarten and new to Illinois schools.

• As a reminder, on Pizza Tuesdays, students should bring their own water or beverage (unless you order one through our lunch program).

• Please no dogs at drop off or pick up! Thank you!
• Please be considerate of others when parking for arrival and dismissal. As you know, it's crowded on our streets, so parking properly helps more cars safely fit. Please also remember the curbs on Wisner and Elmore are "kiss and go". There is no unattended parking on Elmore after school - you must remain in your car.
• Please be sure you call the main office as early in the day as possible if your child is not taking the bus home.
• Smart watches and cell phones must remain off (or in "schooltime" mode) during the day. Students are not permitted to use their smart watches to text or call home - they should ask an adult to use the phone in the office.

GEG Chicagoland Student Film Festival!

OVERVIEW: - Teams of up to 4 students can create a video

• Theme is “My World…”

• Submit videos to jross@d64.org by November 29th.

(this allows time for Mrs. Ross to make sure all necessary forms are filled out and submitted on time)

Winners will be invited to a film festival in February!

Have an idea but need help making the movie? Mrs. Ross will select 3-4 groups of students to help film their movie during recess. Fill out the bottom part of this form and submit to your teacher by Monday, October 24 for consideration. All are welcome to submit a movie to the competition.

Parents are invited to sign up for a time to connect with their child's teacher. We have three evenings in October dedicated to parent-teacher conferences. Please follow these directions to sign up for a time.

The Field PTO is hosting Trunk or Treat! Sign up to decorate the trunk of your car and pass out candy to costumed Field families.

The event is Friday, Oct. 28th from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the staff parking lot. (This year it will not be rain or shine--anything more than a drizzle will result in cancellation.) Don't stress about a theme (the kids are in it for the candy), but if you want to be elaborate, you can vie for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies for the best decorated cars.

Welcome back to school. Please remember to send pictures to fieldschoolyearbook@gmail.com with your child’s grade level in the email header for the following events:
1) 1st day of school
2) Back to School picnic

A big thank you to all of the families that joined the PTO as part of our annual membership drive. Winners of raffle items have been selected and are being contacted this week. Membership is still open at FieldPTO.org.

The PTO is hosting potluck dinners for the teachers and staff during our Tuesday Parent Teacher Conference nights - October 11th and 18th. Please support our awesome Field staff by volunteering to bring a meal, dessert, drink, or other item for the teachers and staff to share. The PTO’s 69th Annual VShow, a community building and fundraising program in support of Field School, is kicking off with a sneak peek of this year's show on October 1 at 7:30 pm at the home of Andrew and Lauren Wilson at 117 N. Merrill, Park Ridge. All Field parents and VShow cast and crew, new and old are welcome. Click here for the invite!

This year, when any of our District 64 schools has a positive COVID-19 case, we'll communicate that information via our school-specific dashboard on our website. A link to our Field COVID dashboard can be found here. This dashboard will replace any previously emailed letters with notifications. On the dashboard, you will be able to see the number of active cases of students or staff in isolation, and the homerooms associated with those students.

Join your Field Green Team and other Green Teams from District 64 on Saturday, October 15th from 1-3 pm for a Woodland & Park Clean-Up Event. We will meet at Belleau Lake- entrance on Busse Hwy, northwest of Oakton Street. Long pants, hard-sole shoes, and gardening gloves are recommended. Also, bring a 5 gallon bucket (if you have one). Plastic bags & gloves will be provided.
