Junior High Baseball
This past season for the Dryden Junior High baseball team was an adventure with canceled games, not enough players, and more. We still got through the season. To all of the players that have made this season possible, we thank you! Now let's take a look at each game, who pitched, and who won!

Varsity Golf
Jacob Burgess had an amazing score of 84, qualifying him for the State Finals. Owen Gall brought up the Dryden team second with 116, with Jacob Buffo a close third with 118!
Good luck to Jacob Burgess at State Finals on June 10 and 11!
Varsity Soccer
On Tuesday, May 31st, the Dryden/ Imlay City girls soccer team competed in their semi-final district match at home against Goodrich. The girls played a magnificent game, everyone made a huge impact and contributed to the whole team’s effort. Unfortunately, Dryden/Imlay City’s girls soccer team lost the game 5-1 against Goodrich. Dryden/Imlay City’s single goal was scored by senior Jenna Peters. Goalie Ashley Hickmott made a total of nine saves throughout the game.
Great job, girls! Everyone did an extraordinary job this season, contributing to the team and also having amazing sportsmanship throughout the season. It is going to be exciting to see what next season has in store!
Varsity Baseball

Dryden Cardinals Varsity Baseball went on the road to Akron-Fairgrove for a doubleheader on Tuesday, May 31st (at Fairgrove), sweeping the doubleheader. In the first game, they won with 18-0, 3 inning mercy, and in the second game with a 16-1 mercy-rule win. The overall record was 17-5-1 and the NCTL League Record was 8-3-1.
Game 1 Stats (18-0 win):
In the first game, Joe Breeding had 2 hits including a Double and a Triple followed by Marty Barker, Sonny Coscione, Josh Harris, and Zack Lemke who each had 1 hit. Lemke’s hit was a Triple.
Charlie Fliedner and Michael Hickmott each had 3 walks added by Mason Stofcheck who had 2 walks. Barker, Dylan Ledford, and Owen Gall each added 1 walk.
Barker, Breeding, and Stofcheck scored 2 runs each for Dryden. Fliedner, Hickmott, Ledford, and Lemke each had 2 and Coscione 1.
Barker, Breeding, and Coscione earned 3 RBIs each, Harris achieved 2, and Hickmott and Ledford, 1.
Coscione, Fliedner, Ledford, and Lemke stole 1 base for the Cardinals each.
In pitching, Zack Lemke got the win by pitching 3 scoreless innings. He gave up 0 hits and 0 earned runs while striking out 6 Akron-Fairgrove batters.
Amazing Job, boys!
Game 2 Stats (16-1 win):
In the second game, Dylan Ledford had 3 hits including 1 Double followed by Marty Barker, Sonny Coscione, and Zack Lemke who each had 2 hits (Barker had a Double. Charlie Fliedner and Josh Harris each added 1 hit.
Charlie Fliedner added 2 strong walks, while Gall, Harris, Ledford, and Stofcheck each had 1 walk.
Ledford scored 3 runs for the team followed by Lemke, Stofcheck, Breeding, Coscione, and Harris who each scored 2 runs, and Fliedner who scored 1.
Barker, Ledford, Coscione, and Harris received 2 RBIs each. Breeding, Fliedner, Gall, Lemke, and Stofcheck each achieved 1.
Coscione, Ledford, and Lemke stole 3 bases each for the Cardinals followed by Breeding and Fliedner who each stole 1.
In pitching, Dryden combined 3 pitchers for the win (Dylan Ledford, Owen Gall, and Mason Stofcheck). Dylan Ledford got the win by pitching 2 scoreless innings and giving up 0 hits and striking out 6 batters.

Dryden Cardinals Varsity Baseball against Marine City Cardinal Mooney in Districts at Capac
Dryden Cardinals Varsity Baseball played Marine City Cardinal Mooney in the first round of Districts in Capac on Saturday, June 4th, losing 14-5.
Their Overall Record is 17-6-1 and the NCTL League Record is 8-3-1.
Stats:
Zack Lemke, Charlie Fliedner, and Mason Stofcheck had 1 hit each, Lemke’s was a Double. Sonny Coscione added 3 walks for the team, followed by Marty Barker who added 2 walks, and Joe Breeding who had 1 walk.
Coscione scored 2 runs for Dryden followed by Barker, Breeding, and Gall who each had 1.
Lemke earned 3 RBIs and Coscione 1.
Barker stole 2 bases successfully for Dryden.
In pitching, Zack Lemke got the start. He pitched 4 ⅓ innings and gave up 3 earned runs on 7 hits and 4 walks while striking out 9 Cardinal Mooney batters.
Dryden closes out the season this week on the road at Memphis on Monday and at home for an NCTL doubleheader vs Genesee on Wednesday.
Varsity Softball
The Varsity Softball team had their last games this past week! Here are the results:
Lutheran Northwest 5, Dryden 3
Batting-
Led by Avery Grondin with a double, single, and 1 RBI. Haley Adamson had a double
and 1 RBI. Addie Tresnak had 1 RBI, Becca Weiss had 2 hits and 1 run scored. Ashley
Hickmott and Madison Maday had 1 hit each.
The next day they had a doubleheader.
Game 1
Dryden 10, Owendale-Gagetown 3
Batting-
Led by Avery Grondin who had a 2 run home run over the fence, a double, 4
RBIs and 2 runs scored. Becca Weiss had 2 hits and 3 runs scored. Haley Adamson had 2
hits, 1 RBI, and 2 runs scored. Addie Tresnak had 1 hit, 1 RBI, and 1 run scored. Ashley
Hickmott had 1 RBI and 1 run scored. Lola Abromatis had a double and a single. Madison
Maday had 1 hit and 1 run scored. Rilynn Lindsay had 1 RBI and 1 run scored.
Game 2
Dryden 19- Owendale 3
Batting-
Avery Grondin had 1 double, 1 single, 2 RBIs, and 2 runs. Addie Tresnak had 1 hit,
2 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Mikayla Fleming had 1 hit, 1 RBI, and 1 run scored. Lola
Abromaitis had 1 hit, 1 RBI, and 2 runs scored. Rilynn Lindsay had 1 RBI and 2 runs scored.
Haley Adamson had 4 runs scored. Ashley Hickmott had 3 runs scored. Becca Weiss had 2
runs scored and Jade Insley had 1 run scored.
Varsity Track
On Saturday, June 4th, the track State qualifiers ran at the state meet. The girls 4x200 relay (Delaney Wolle, Sophia Peter, Keira Miller, Olivia Stickler) ran a time of 1:53.91 and placed 13th overall. Olivia Stickler also qualified in both the 100 and 400. In the 100 prelims, she ran a 13.65, ranking her 13th, and in the 400, she ran a 1:04.47, placing 15th overall. Sophia Peter, who qualified in the 300 hurdles, placed 13th with a time of 51.04. On the boys side, Aiden Fitchett was the only one who qualified. He ran the 1600 in 4:51.39, which put him in 15th place.
