Meet Ms. Rangel
I am so excited to join the Pleasant View Team! My name is Jana Rangel, and I will be your child’s first grade teacher this year. My hope for this school year is to create meaningful relationships with each of you, and partner together to make our classroom be the best environment possible for you and your child.
A little about me, I was raised in Afton, Wyoming and moved to Idaho in 1997 after graduating from high school. I attended Boise State University where I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education/Early Childhood Special Education blended degree. In 2017, I received my master’s degree in Early and Special Education from Boise State University. I am currently attending Northwest Nazarene University working on my master’s in School Counseling.
I have three children ages 25, 20, and 15. They are my world and I love spending time with each of them. In my spare time I enjoy spending time outdoors, camping, fishing, razor riding, and paddle boarding.
This is my 20th year working for the West Ada School District. My first 4 years working for the West Ada School District was spent at the District Service Center supporting teachers and district administration in various roles. This is my 16th year of teaching. The first 12 years of my career, I taught developmental preschool at Meridian Elementary. This is my fourth-year teaching first grade. I have spent the last 2 years teaching first grade virtually. I am excited to be back in the building environment, and a part of the learning experience with your child creating memories and skills that will last a lifetime.
I have a love of learning and a passion for teaching. By making our classroom a safe, fun, orderly place, my hope is that your child will have as much fun learning as I do. I feel that all children are different and require specific attention and affection for them to flourish. I will strive my best to be that for each my students.
This year will be a fun and exciting year, but as with every school year, things can and will come up. A successful year starts and ends with open communication between parents and teachers. Please free to contact me with any concerns or questions you may have. Please note that with any emails sent, please allow me until the end of the day to respond. I check my email several times a day, however every day is different, and I may not be able to respond right away.
