~ Being The " i " in KIND ~
Hawley's Motto is Work Hard and Be Kind. We are always on the lookout for Kindness. When an Act of Kindness (above and beyond expectations) is observed, we honor our students as they are putting the " i " in KIND!
These below students did just that assisting a friend using a GeoBoard, helping a friend clean up Work Stations without being asked, and helping a friend organize their desk.
Love Seeing This!!! We're always looking ;0)

Important Reminders / General Info
- Pick Up Reminders: The end of our day has many moving pieces. Students are in classrooms, at special, receiving intervention/enrichment support, at extra recess, heading to bus lines or bus rooms. We discourage last minute changesnor pick ups between 3:10-3:30. If dismissal has begun, you may need to pick up using our regular system. Also, calls are best or emails to the office, not just teacher (grimaldim@newtown.k12.ct.us AND chernoffg@newtown.k12.ct.us).

Out of the Mouths of Babes...
Mr. M was eating a donut brought in by a staff member.
" Hey, I want a donut " said a youngster
" They are for the adults " Mr. M replied
" Not fair " added another student " Why can't we eat them "
" Mr. M shouldn't be eating it either " a colleague shared,
" Better hope Mrs. Moretti doesn't find out "
" That's alright, Mr. M " the student said, " My mom doesn't like me eating them either "
