Cardinals in the Community
We believe in the mission of St. Cecilia Cathedral Grade School:
- To teach and live the Catholic faith with a nurturing, family-like community.
- Teach respect for all.
- Foster each student's academic potential.
Our students live and share the mission both in the classroom and out in our communities. See this week's "Cardinals in the Community" who are living the mission this summer. If you have examples of how our students are displaying the mission and sharing their faith with others, please send this information to Mrs. Pick (jpick@stcecilia.net).

Volunteer Opportunities
Hi volleyball families! Please check out the scoreboard and concession stand signup above for home games we still need help for. Instructions have been attached to the scoreboard table to help you. For volleyball, it is really easy: 10-minute timer ONLY and just adding rally scoring.
Christi Schill, our volleyball coordinator, will be at most home games but she coaches as well so we need lots of parent help. If you have a 7th or 8th grader who needs service hours, this is a great opportunity for them to acquire those hours.
Cathedralfest Updates
It's that time of year when we ask for any and all volunteers to help out with Cathedralfest 2022! We utilize ivolunteer as our sign up for the event. Please click on the button below to see all of the ways you (and your family) can get involved during our parish fundraiser. A "how to" is included below that gives a step-by-step on how to sign up and utilize the site.
Middle school students are welcome to sign up for the volunteer opportunities that are available to students. We'll have two Cathedralfest chairs come in next week to talk to the students about the importance of volunteering and giving back to their community. Remember each school family is required to complete at least 15 volunteer hours each school year. Volunteering allows us to keep tuition costs and extra fees as low as possible for everyone.
We are in need of a chili cook off lead for Cathedralfest and chairs for 2023. If you are interested, please contact Jean Smith.
Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Corner
Did you know that SEL isn't just for kids? Adults need to pay attention to their social and emotional needs too. As we tell the kids here in school, everyone's SEL needs look different. Here are some resources that we hope you find helpful:
- All women are invited to join us for "KABOOM! The Collision of Grace" on October 15.
- Helpful words from Mother Samuel Coughlin, OP in 1917 (a Dominican sister)
- Mental Health Memo from Catholic Charities for September
Emily Jamber returns to St. Cecilia as a Provisional Licensed Mental Health Practitioner. We love our partnership with Catholic Charities as they provide additional supports, through Emily and Millie, for our students and families.
Meet Our Nurse - Erin Randell, RN
Hello, my name is Erin Randell, RN, and this is my 3rd year at St. Cecilia. I am going through your child(ren)'s medical paperwork for this year and there are many forms missing. Please send in medical paperwork as soon as possible (end of September is the deadline). It is helpful when families send in the necessary information rather than having me follow up. Here are the items needed:
- All Kindergarten Students: Immunizations, physicals, and vision exams
- All 7th Grade Students: Immunizations and physicals
- All New Students: Immunizations
- All New Students Who Transferred from Out of State: Physical and vision exam
- If you indicated on the Annual Health Update that your child needs emergency medications for a severe allergy, asthma, etc., please send in an Action Plan with both MD and parent signature along with the medication to the office.
