Model UN
Mr. Wasvick's Problems of Democracy class held a Model UN. Each student researched a country and drafted a resolution for the United Nations to address. The issues ranged from climate change to overfishing and the seniors did an outstanding job creating and defending these resolutions.
Sophomore Rosewood Fishbowl Activity
The sophomores are getting ready to read To Kill a Mockingbird and as a part of their pre-reading they read an article about a race related incident that took place in Rosewood, FL in 1923. After reading, they answered questions and made up two original questions to be prepared for the Fishbowl discussion in class. They each took turns as being a participator in the discussion and being an evaluator of someone in the discussion. The sophomores did a great job and got practice at analyzing an issue and speaking in a rational, logical manner about the topic as well as an understanding of some of the history of racial conflict.
Child Development Class
Students assisted the PreK kids with a fun way to dye eggs. They used whipped cream and neon food coloring.
They also made yellow chick cookies for the elementary weekly treat.
EMT Class
At the beginning of March, students taking EMT class practiced CPR.
Projects in Junior High FCS Class.
Students have been working on sewing and other crafting projects recently. Each 8th grade student was able to complete a lap jean quilt with donated jeans! Recycle, Reuse, & Repurpose!
