Salem Junior General Monthly Newsletter- November 2023
November has a magical way of reminding us about the beauty of change. The leaves, in their myriad of colors gracefully fall to the ground, the brisk mornings awaken our senses, and the world seems to slow down just a bit, urging us to appreciate the present.
I hope you've been able to take a moment to enjoy these simple pleasures and marvel at the natural beauty that surrounds us, even amidst the busyness of our daily routines. It's a great opportunity to remind our children of the importance of being present and appreciating the wonders that each season brings.
Speaking of progress, our First Quarter has concluded, and report cards will soon be on their way home. This is an excellent time to sit down with your child to discuss their achievements, challenges, and goals. Celebrate their successes, no matter how big or small, and encourage them to continue putting their best foot forward. If you have any concerns or need additional resources, please do not hesitate to reach out to our staff. We are here to support every child's journey.
Furthermore, with the holiday season around the corner, it's also a good moment to reflect on the values of gratitude, kindness, and community. We are continually thankful for our wonderful school community and the partnership we share with all of you.
Upcoming events, meetings, and activities are detailed in this newsletter. Please make sure to save, duplicate, or print it for your reference. Let's continue working together, ensuring our students receive the best experiences both academically and socially.
May this month be a reminder for all of us to cherish the time we have with our loved ones and to relish the simple, yet profound, joys that life has to offer.
Thank you for your unwavering support and commitment. Wishing you a November filled with warmth, joy, and memorable moments with your loved ones.

From the Nurse's Office
New York State law requires that any medication to be administered in a school setting, including over-the-counter medications, must have appropriate documentation from a physician. The law also provides guidelines for the administration of medication in schools to ensure the safety of students.
For the safety and well-being of all our students, we would like to remind everyone that any and all medications that require a doctor's script must be delivered directly to the health office by a parent or guardian. It's essential that medications are not sent with students or through others. This ensures the correct handling, dosage, and administration of the medication.
We understand the challenges and inconveniences that might arise from this, but the safety of our students remains our utmost priority. If you have questions or need to make specific arrangements, please do not hesitate to contact the health office.
🔔 Elementary School Arrival Information 🔔
The elementary school doors open at 7:50 a.m. Classes begin at 8:00 a.m. We want to ensure that everyone has a smooth start to their day.
For parent drop-off, please use the designated area in front of the school. Students and their families should not be walking between our parked buses. It is not safe walking from the parking lot and along the buses to get to our elementary doors. Please help our drivers by approaching the buildings from the front of the school.
Punctuality is important. Students who enter the building after 8:00 a.m. will be considered tardy. Let's all work together to ensure everyone gets the most out of their learning time.
