Dear Stonybrook parents and caregivers,


Happy Mother's Day! Being a mother is one of the hardest jobs in the world and we certainly appreciate all that our mothers do for us.


7th & 8th Grade VLA Students

Tomorrow, May 10th, and Tuesday, May 11th, 7th Grade VLA students will be coming into the building to take their ILEARN assessment. Car riders need to be dropped off at door 23. Students will call their parents once they are finished testing. Students will be feed breakfast and lunch. 8th Grade VLA come in on the 12th and 13th to test.

Intermediate/Middle School Virtual Learning


Warren Township will continue to offer a virtual learning option for our 5th through 8th grade students in the 2021-2022 school year as an accommodation and support for our students, parents, and caregivers who are navigating the COVID-19 pandemic. All three Intermediate/Middle Schools will have virtual learning options available for their school community.


  • 5th and 6th grade students will have live, synchronous instruction daily.

    • Students will follow a daily routine that follows a schedule of courses with a teacher who teaches English Language Arts and Social Studies and a different teacher who teaches Math and Science. In addition to core classes, 5th and 6th grade students will have access to related arts classes and teachers through a synchronous schedule.

  • 7th and 8th grade students will have a schedule built for them by their grade level counselors.

    • Students will have a daily schedule of classes, with live synchronous daily instruction in English Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies.

  • All 7th and 8th graders will take Elective classes offered on Edmentum. The following elective classes will be available for 7th and 8th grade virtual students.

  • Attendance will be taken every day based on their participation in Zoom (virtual) lessons.

Important message from the Clinic

Parents,

If your child has ANY medication in the clinic, please make arrangements to have these picked up from school by an adult by May 28, 2021. That adult will be required to sign out the medication.

In adherence to the Warren Township medication policy, NO medications will be sent home with students on the bus or in the car line. Medications cannot remain in the clinic over the summer. If you do not pick up the medication by May 28, it will be destroyed. This includes all over-the-counter medications as well as prescription medications. For any questions please call the clinic at 317-532-8800.

VLA ILEARN Testing Schedule

Students that receive instruction virtually must participate in ILEARN testing in person, at Stonybrook. Students will be fed both breakfast and lunch, and would be testing with only virtual students.

All VLA students will take the practice test on the days that they come to Stonybrook to take ILEARN.



VLA 6th Grade Test Schedule:

May 5 9:00am to between 1:15pm and 2:45pm (math focus)

May 6 9:00am to between 2:30pm and 4:30pm (ELA focus)

May 7 9:00am to between 1:00pm and 1:30pm (science focus)

* Students may choose to ride the regular school bus to school, but would need pick-up transportation


VLA 7th Grade Test Schedule:

May 10 9:00am to between 1:30pm and 2:45pm (math focus)

Tech Support

To increase our tech support for students and families, we are expanding our technology help desk hours at Moorhead Community Resource Center. Starting next week, hours will be M-F from 7:30 - 8:30 AM and 11:00 - 1:00 PM. K-4 VIRTUAL students with iPad issues should be brought here. Chromebooks can still be brought to any of the three Intermediate Middle Schools during school hours, 9:00 - 4:00, Monday - Friday or the Chromedesk at the High School during 1st and 2nd period, Monday - Friday. If for some reason you are not able to access the above times and locations, you can also submit a help ticket through IncidentIQ by clicking on Technology Tab under the Explore Tab and then select Parent Tech Info.

Stadium/Gymnasium Bag Policy

We are committed to your safety and enjoyable experience in our Stadium/Gymnasium. The following items are permitted in our facility:


 One clear plastic or vinyl bag that does not exceed 12 inches (height) x 6 inches (depth) x
12 inches (length) or a one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag.

 An exception may be made for any items necessary for medical purposes, subject to
search.

 Small clutch purse NO LARGER than 6 inches by 9 inches.


The following items are prohibited in our facility:


 Backpacks and sports/duffel bags will not be permitted

 Drawstring bags will not be permitted

 Purses and tote bags will not be permitted

 Diaper bags will not be permitted. Parents with infants or toddlers may carry a clear gallon
size bag with necessary items for their child.

 Coolers, outside food and drinks will not be permitted.
