Owens Families,

I am proud to announce our Owens Teacher of the Year is Beth Lockhart. Mrs. Lockhart teaches kindergarten at Owens. This is her 16th year as an educator, all of which have been in kindergarten. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, crafting, refurbishing furniture, and spending time with her husband, Jensen.

We are so proud for Mrs. Lockhart to represent our campus as she moves forward to compete for the overall Elementary Teacher of the Year for Tyler ISD this spring. We are grateful for her and the positive impact she has on the education and the lives of our little Eagles!

We are excited to announce that 6th grade schedule forms were sent home on Monday 2/1. Please complete these selection forms with your 5th grader and return the forms to their homeroom teacher no later than Friday, February 12th.

All students should submit a schedule form for their zoned middle school. Magnet school applications for Caldwell and Moore MST are available upon student request.

Owens Elementary will kick off the American Heart Association's Kid Heart Challenge on Monday, February 1st and will end on Friday, February 12th! Our goal this year is to raise $5,000 for the American Heart Association, and every student that raises $100 or more will get to pie Coach Burns in the face. You can use the links from PTA to sign up for Card My Yard for Valentines. There is a discount for Owens. What a fun way to show someone special in your life how much they mean to you.

Below are pictures of the lost and found in our gymnasium so far. Please help us get items back to their rightful owners. If you have not already written your child's name in their winter gear, do so today with a sharpie. It helps us get items right back to your child when they are left behind. To claim an item from the photographs below:
