The Kinsner Weekly
12/8/23
The Nutcracker
Food Bank
1st graders were very generous in working toward the "Global" competency of the Model Mustang! Students sorted the items into categories, organized the data and found interpretations within the data. More importantly, they learned the value of giving, not just receiving.

Kinsner PTA
Happy Holidays! Kinsner PTA would like to spread some good cheer with the following positive reports and updates.
Holiday Shop
Kinsner PTA would like to thank all of the volunteers, teachers, staff members, parents, caregivers and families for making Holiday Shop such a joyful experience for Kinsner students this December. Not only did students have the opportunity to purchase reasonably priced gifts for family, friends and pets in the spirit of giving, they also learned more about budgeting and decision-making. Holiday Shop takes an enormous amount of time, effort and collaboration, so THANK YOU to all involved for bringing so many smiles to so many faces!
Grants Awards
Congratulations! Two Kinsner grant applications were recently selected to receive generous funding from Strongsville Council PTA for the benefit of Kinsner students. $1,000 was awarded for Ms. Lehuta's application for the purchase of a new xylophone, and $210 was awarded for Mrs. Adam's application for Reading Skills Games. A total of $7,000 in funding was awarded to recipients across the District. Thank you to all those who applied, and thank you to Strongsville Council PTA for making these purchases possible!
Playground Update
Recent playground survey results from Kinsner families and teachers made it clear that the Kinsner community prefers swings and picnic tables over the large slide and climber as the next phase of playground improvements. 90% of the votes cast chose this option, so Kinsner PTA is proud to announce the following:
1) An unexpected and generous donation of four rectangular and two round picnic tables will be delivered in the near future thanks to Shawn and Lora Puskar, their family and their
company, G&P Construction.
2) Kinsner PTA members voted at the December 13th meeting to fund and order a row of six swings, which will include five standard ones and one ADA compliant swing.
THANK YOU to the Kinsner Community for your generous fundraising efforts and support that made these additions possible! We have proven once again that Together, we can do BIG things.
Gym Mats
To keep the good news coming, because of the donation of picnic tables mentioned above, extra funding became available to allow Kinsner PTA to approve funding the purchase of 11 new gym mats to replace the 25-year-old mats that were showing their age. Congratulations, Ms. Weir and Mr. Matese, on a gift of new gym mats for your classes! Kinsner PTA hopes these mats provide all 600+ Kinsner students with a safer and more enjoyable physical education experience.
