RE: Data Privacy Link Information
Dear Families,
In September, we sent out information about a new legislative requirement for school districts to ensure that technology providers protect student information and academic data. We have contracted with Learn Platform to create a listing of the Technology Providers used by Lester Prairie Schools for your review. Included in this listing you will find the product names, authorized grade levels, approval status, and compliance status. The unique Learn Platfrom link for Lester Prairie Schools is:
https://swwc.app.learnplatform.com/new/public/tools?tag-filter-251[]=4346
Please reach out to Marc Wawrzyniak by email at wawrzyniak@lp.k12.mn.us or phone 320-395-2521 ext. 1133 for additional questions regarding specific digital tools used in classrooms, or if you would like to arrange for an appointment to inspect any of our Technology Provider contracts.
Thank you,
Dr. Melissa Radeke
Superintendent

STAFF SPOTLIGHT: TABATHA AINSWORTH - our new paraprofessional!
A little bit about me: I was born and raised in South Minneapolis. I have one younger brother. My husband is from East Texas, and we met while he was stationed in California with the Navy through a mutual friend. We lived in West Michigan for over 20 years, and came back to Minnesota 7 years ago. We decided to move to a small town and picked Winsted. We have one grown son that is getting married next year.
A favorite thing I like to do: I love to play board and card games!
My hobbies are: I do a lot of crafts, but my favorite is rubber stamping. I make all my own cards and other paper crafts. I also enjoy baking, cooking, knitting, painting, reading ( I have a lending library in my front yard), kayaking, walking my dog (Mini Schnauzer), traveling the U.S., and doing just about anything artistic.
Something you might not know about me: My brother and I were the only grandchildren and niece/nephew on both sides of the family. We didn’t have a cousin until three months after my son was born.
My favorite movie is: Sleeping Beauty because I love the old Disney animation movies, and I especially love the dragon in Sleeping Beauty.
My favorite book is: “Same Kind of Different As Me” because although we all look different on the outside, we all share the same concerns. We need to help each other, and set aside our outside differences.
My favorite sport is football because I love to watch and yell at the television to cheer on the team!
If I could meet any historical person, it would be Abraham Lincoln. He was an amazing person with amazing ideas that were before his time.
PBIS NEWS:
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a program happening at Lester Prairie Schools. Like its name says, this proactive program helps students learn to make behavioral choices that are, well, positive! All K-12 students are participating. Bulldog tickets are given to students who are caught showing Bulldog Pride: Respecting Self, Others, Property, and Learning. Students work together to fill up ticket boxes for recognitions and celebrations. The K-6 ticket box is by the cafeteria and the 7-12 ticket box is by Mr. Lee's office.
At an assembly this week, the elementary kicked off their monthly theme: Being Part of a Team. Mr. Rogotzke spoke about the team skills he uses during his summer job fishing for salmon in Alaska. Some students participated in a team activity moving a hula hoop around an enclosed circle while other students cheered them on. Finally, students were taught a cheer: "We are the Bulldogs, strong as can be. When we work together, we can all succeed!"
We are proud of all of our Bulldogs for creating such a positive culture at Lester Prairie Schools!
