Bonham ISD- Finley-Oates, Student of the Month for November
BISD Board Goal 5: Improve academic achievement of all students through communication, access to information and a network of community partnerships.
Constantine Masonic Lodge in Bonham provided Dental Hygiene Kits for First Graders at Finley-Oates. We appreciate this partnership that enables us to help students gain an understanding of health information and skills through hygiene. Hygiene education helps to prepare students for improved lifelong health outcomes. .
Finley-Oates partnered with North Star Ranch Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center and the Fannin County Courthouse. The kindergarten and first grade students went trick or treating at the Fannin County Courthouse. The second and third grade students went trick or treating at North Star Ranch Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. Thank you for pouring into our students and providing them with these opportunities.
BISD Board Goal 4: Promote a positive and service-oriented culture within the Bonham ISD.
A little over $2800.00 was donated to Kristy's Kids this year, and because of that, we were able to help over 150 K-3rd Grade boys and girls get a book from the Book Fair. We were able to provide books for students that did not have money to purchase a book. We still have $600.00 to purchase books for our students at our next fair in April.
Finley-Oates collected 41 blankets for the Spirit of Giving Day.
BISD Board Goal 3: Ensure all students have high levels of academic achievement
with a focus on literacy and mathematics through improved leadership, instruction, support and a climate of continuous improvement.
These students have been reading a “creepy” book series. They read A Creepy Pair of Underwear and and Creepy Carrots. the students have used these read alouds to incorporate reading, math, art, social emotional, and science/engineering. The activities have worked on skills such as following directions, scissor skills, centering comprehension, teamwork, communication, problem solving, fine motor skills, graphing, and more. The best learning occurs when they think we are just having fun!
BISD Baord Goal 2: Attract and retain high quality staff by offeringcompetitive compensation, great working conditions and recognizing excellence in performance.
Staff enjoyed receiving their Technology Stipend! Thank you BISD!!
BISD Board Goal 1: Provide schools which are safe, conducive to learning and support the physical, emotional and intellectual well-being of our stakeholders.
There has been a new piece of equipment added to our playground for our studnts to use. They can practice their math skills while playing.
