WAUWATOSA MONTESSORI SCHOOL

Dear Wauwatosa Montessori School Family,

Thank you to the following parents for volunteering to work a shift at a Brewers concession stand this week: Jenelle Leavell, Ming Wong, Kate Avila, Jamie Eral, Josh Schneider, Amy Randall, Brian Randall, Chelsea Fisher Mamerow, Lindsey Schneider, and Elise Georgeson. Thank you to the following staff members for volunteering as well: Jelena Rosich, Emily Brenner, Hannah Agpoon, and Jonah Agpoon. We went in as novices, learning how to serve up Nacho Helmets and work the concessions registers. It truly was an unforgettable adventure! Thank you to Sally Courtney and our NCI organizing committee for your involvement in coordinating this effort. Thank you to Ms. Char for assisting with paperwork necessary to secure this partnership. Because of each of you, we were able to raise about $3000, which will be put towards our Nature’s Classroom Institute trips. We will be looking to run this fundraiser in the regular season, and at special events like concerts. Our hope is that we can enlist everyone possible at WMS at some point to commit to a shift, and fundraise to support creative, exceptional learning opportunities for our students! AP students will be organizing this by calling families and asking for volunteers for the regular season and the concerts. Please stay tuned for future volunteering opportunities!

We are looking for volunteers for shelving books for 1-2 hours on Wednesdays and/or Thursdays.

Trunk or Treat—more cars needed!

Our annual Trunk or Treat event is Wednesday, October 25, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. This is on the last day of school of a shortened week. We are looking for more volunteers to decorate their cars and hand out treats. In past years, families have decorated their cars with lights, a book or movie theme, traditional Halloween decorations. And some have coordinated with their kids’ costumes. There are so many possibilities!

We are also looking for volunteers to help run the event (hot chocolate, craft table, directing cars). We’ll have crafts, movies, hot chocolate, as well as concessions sold by AP, Inc. Start thinking about costumes for your family – and your car! Sign up HERE.

And thanks again to everyone who came out for movie night last week!

We will once again have the opportunity to order popcorn on Tuesday's. The price is $.75 per bag. Students order it on Tuesday morning and the Next Steps crew make the popcorn and deliver it same day. So yummy!
