December 2023

A Note from Mrs. Shirley
Dear OHE Family,
The holiday season is upon us!! At OHE, it is such a fun time of year. Our classrooms and hallways are being decorated for Christmas. Students are busy with special projects in classrooms and the last week of school will be full of Christmas spirit with dress-up days and caroling.
The days seem to go so fast this time of year. It’s hard to slow down and just appreciate the joy and excitement that can come from this season. I would challenge you to find some moments in the next few weeks to just enjoy the season with your family and friends. Build some traditions with your family. Traditions are the memories children hold dear as they grow up and build lives of their own. And the great thing is that traditions don’t have to cost money.
Some of my favorite memories growing up included reading the story of Christ’s birth from the Bible, having hot chocolate on Christmas day for breakfast and chili for lunch. Those memories with my parents and family stay with me forever!! I hope you have an opportunity to build some amazing memories with your family this year.
Hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Mrs. Shirley
A Note from Mrs. Ditto
Hello OHE Families!
Each school day in December, we are doing a Daily Kindness Challenge as part of our morning announcements. These challenges are simple things we can do for each other. It might be smiling at someone, thanking someone for helping, or even sitting with a new friend one day. I challenge our families to continue the kindness challenges at home. Ask your student what the challenge was each day. Talk about how they met the challenge during the school day, and practice the daily challenge at home or during your after school activities. Let's keep the kindness going through out December and into the new year!
I wish you all a wonderful holiday season--
Mrs. Ditto
