North Side Families,

As we all know, Covid is not going away any time soon. I want to say thank you to all of you for working with us to keep the students and staff healthy and safe. The Covid protocols we have put into place are proving successful!

We do NEED your HELP! We have been supplying students with masks since the beginning of the school year if they arrived at school without a mask or if they left school without a mask and needed to board the bus. Unfortunately, we are almost out of masks and do not have unlimited funds to continue purchasing them at the rate they are being used. Please help our school continue to keep everybody healthy and make sure your child(ren) have a mask when they leave home in the morning. Students must wear them on the bus and at any time they are up and moving around in the building. WE APPRECIATE YOUR HELP WITH THIS!!!!

The North Side Fundraiser pick-up is Tuesday, November 3rd from 3-5 p.m. Please pull up to door 5 and a staff member will come outside to assist you.

Other Reminders:

1. Please remember that our school is still not fully open to visitors, please call if you need to come to the building and schedule an appointment to do so.

2. If your child is ill, please call our office and let us know by 9 a.m. if at all possible. Our office number is (260) 347-1354. If you believe the illness is Covid related, please ask to speak with Nurse Whitney. We want to thank you for all of your help and support with this, our students are doing a great job and you are the reason why! THANK YOU!!!!!

3. Please contact the office by 1:30 p.m. if you need to make changes to your child's transportation home for the day. We cannot guarantee the changes when you call after 1:30 p.m. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR THIS!

4. If your child is a car rider, please make sure to use your car tags each day.

5. If you need to change your child's bus or start bus transportation, please follow these steps:

Bus Change or Start Up Requests

If you need to change your bus location, please go to the North Side website, https://www.eastnoble.net/o/north-side-elementary, and follow these directions:

Click on the "Menu" at the top of the home page. Click the “For Families” tab and then the "Transportation" tab. When the drop down menu appears, you will see a link called “Transportation Change Request.” When you click that link, you will be taken to a form that you can fill out and submit electronically. It will notify transportation via email that a request has been submitted and they will begin working on fulfilling the request. Once arrangements have been made and confirmed with drivers, transportation will communicate the arrangements to parents.

It is not too late to join our North Side PTO. This is a great year to ease your way in......as we still aren't planning events at the moment. If you are interested, please e-mail Stephanie Leasure at sleasure@eastnoble.net. Thank you to those who have offered to join thus far!

The PTO is planning to still hold the annual North Side North Pole this year - ONLINE. It will be held online during the week of November 16th-20th. More details will be sent home soon.

Breakfast and lunch at East Noble are FREE for ALL STUDENTS until the end of the school year! THIS IS GREAT NEWS!!!!! Please take advantage of this wonderful opportunity!!!

For our lunch menu, download the East Noble app below. Click on the school in the top right corner and tap on North Side. Once on North Side's page, tap the 3 lines at the top left corner and touch "dining" and you will find our lunch menu for each day of that week.

Attendance:

Please know that class begins at 8:45 am on Mondays and 8:00 am on Tuesdays through Fridays. We are thrilled that so many families are taking advantage of the free breakfast program, but we do ask that if your child is a car rider or walker, they plan to arrive at the school by 8:15-8:25 on Mondays and 7:30-7:40 on Tuesdays through Fridays so that they have plenty of time to eat breakfast and still arrive on time to their classroom.

Flu season is officially here! The CDC highly recommends flu shots. It is difficult to determine the difference between flu and Covid symptoms. Please reach out to your family doctor for advice to determine if you need to quarantine or if it is likely the flu and your child will be able to return to school sooner. Please continue to communicate with the school on your child(ren's) illnesses and symptoms. We are here to work with you! You may report absences at any hour through our voice message system, call (260) 347-1354.

Please remember that if your child(ren) are out on quarantine, they will receive their school assignment through Seesaw (K-4) or Canvas (5th). This school work does need to be completed so that they do not receive zeros or F's. If they are ill during the quarantine, teachers will work with you on length of time to complete the assignments. Please keep open communication with the teacher.

Safety:

We have held three successful fire drills now.

If you have any questions about fire drills, tornado drills, lock downs or anything pertaining to safety, please contact the school and ask to speak with Mr. Perlich.

This year, the school building is locked. Please remember to call the school before coming to the building. We can come outside to pick something up or bring something to you if you schedule it with us. Thank you for understanding and continuing to work with us!

In November, the counseling lessons will focus on health, wellness, and body safety. We will be focusing on making positive health and wellness choices as well as understanding how to keep our bodies safe.

Please continue to send a mask to school with your child each day! The school appreciates your support with this and Governor Holcomb's mandate. We want to thank you for discussing the importance of handwashing and the use of hand sanitizer with your child(ren), this is so important in preventing the spread of all germs.
