CELEBRATIONS
Great things are happening at WCS!
Thank you to our friends and families who came out to the Harvest Supper earlier this month! It was great to see everyone and to share a meal together. Ticket sales from this event go toward the annual 8th grade class trip to Washington, D.C. Be on the lookout for additional opportunities to support these students in reaching their goal!
Middle School Dance: TONIGHT!
The Student Leadership Team is holding a dance tonight from 6:30 - 8:30pm for WCS students in grades 6-8. Entrance costs $2.00 and snacks will be available for purchase.
PTA News
We will be hosting our annual Winter Tree Lighting on December 19th at 6 PM. All are welcome to join us for cookies, cocoa, songs led by our WCS chorus members, the lighting of the tree- and even a visit from Buddy the Elf!
Our monthly PTA meeting will be held on December 13th at 6 PM in the WCS library. We will be working on preparing the student-made ornaments to go on the tree for our Tree Lighting and talking about the upcoming events in the new year- we'd love to see you there!
HEALTHY HIGHLIGHTS
INCOGNITO TURKEY CONTEST
We had an amazing selection of entries to the PTA Incognito Turkey Contest! The winning students were: Rhi Malcolm, Keira Richardson, Clayton Preble, Jack Lebel and Clara Wynne! This is one of our favorite contests, and we love seeing the entries displayed in the lobby!
WEEKLY WELLNESS
Hello Families! Mr. Hutchings here with a weekly wellness tip! We are a 5210 Let's Go School here at Woolwich. This means 5 servings of fruits and/or vegetables everyday, 2 hours or less of screen time, 1 hour or more of exercise, and 0 sugary drinks. These are things that I talk about with the kids at school and I really would love to see our awesome community get behind this initiative. Are you practicing 5210 at home? I will be talking more about each category in the following weeks, and will offer ways to help achieve these important daily numbers! Keep the kids moving and eating well, and be on the lookout for next week's wellness tip!
Fitness Fridays with Mr. Hutchings!
Each Friday, Mr. Hutchings invites the K-2 classes to join him in the Gym for 10 minutes of fitness fun. This is a popular activity for students. It encourages kids to exercise with fun music and friends. "Fitness Friday" directly precedes "Sleep In Saturday," which is a favorite among parents.

THINGS TO TALK ABOUT
- If you are planning on your student missing 2 or more days of school for a trip or a family visit, please complete a Planned Absence form (CLICK HERE). This form helps teachers plan their classroom activities around who will be present and helps the office excuse your student's absence!
- Please remember to send your students in with appropriate cold-weather clothing including hats, mittens and coats. We will be outside almost every day enjoying the fresh air, and we want students prepared to enjoy recess outside all winter long!
In accordance with School Board policy, the following promotional announcements have been included at the request of the sponsoring organization because they may be of interest to students and their families. These activities are not sponsored byt the school, and inclusion of these announcements does not constitute endorsement of the organizations or activities by the school.
