A Note from Mrs. Pitts
Dear RES Families and Supporters,
This will be the only newsletter until after vacation. To go with our current school theme, I have GRATITUDE spilling out everywhere and I owe that to this community, the students, the staff and our families. Have an incredible time with your families and friends over the break. I am currently in Washington, DC at the Blue Ribbon celebration to celebrate this amazing school and learn from leaders and educators around the country!
Have a great weekend,
Michelle Pitts, RES Principal

Spanish and Health
Students in grades K-4 participate in a weekly thirty minute world language health class where Mrs. Warden and Señora Piper teach health concepts with Spanish integration.
Through projects, sorting, puppet shows, manipulatives, matching, stories and more students have expanded their understanding of the body and healthy habits in both English and Spanish. Later in the school year this course will continue in English and French.

Reaching Out
We are so amazed by the talents, skills, knowledge and businesses that exist within our community. We know there are so many resources within Rye that we are not aware of or have not tapped into as of yet. We want to know more! If you have a skill, talent, knowledge of a specific topic or a business that you think might further enrich the education of our students here at RES, please email Michelle Pitts at mpitts@sau50.org.
In addition, I am always trying to keep the smiles and laughter for staff at a high level whenever possible. I like to play games and give prizes (see example in the photos below). If you have a business or a connection and want to donate a SMALL gift card or item to my list of fun to be had this year and the years to come, we would love and appreciate that tremendously. Simply email me or send to the office with your name/business and I will be sure to let you know how we used your donation and who benefitted! If you know of a business in town that might be interested and they do not receive this newsletter, feel free to forward. We want to support our local businesses as much as possible!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!
- The recent Rye400 Playground Fundraising Party raised $27,833.62 to support the new, accessible Rye Elementary School playground. Andy Stecher, Rye400 Chair, presents a check to Michelle Pitts, Rye Elementary School Principal, while Allison Salzer, President of the Rye PTA, looks on. Coupled with the recent $3,510 raised through the “Rye400 Evening with Dan Brown” event — designated for Rye student field trips to the Seacoast Science Center — it brings the total of Rye400 donations to Rye, NH schools to $31,343.62 to date. @ryenhhistoricalsociety @sau50facilities @ryenhpta #ryenh #ryenhbeach #ryenh400 #ryenhhistoricalsociety #ryenh #ryenh03870 #ryenhtown #ryepta

Lunch with Students
We do allow one family member at a time to have lunch with their child(ren) but this is very optional and we don't want families to feel pressured to attend.
- Email resoffice@sau50.org if you would like to attend with the date/time (starting October 1). It is important to anticipate who will be in the building. We love these opportunities for students and their family members but we will always put safety first.
- We do have a focus during this time...eating for energy and brain power!
- Family members must meet the child in the cafeteria and leave from the cafeteria.
- Lunch times are:
Kindergarten-11:45-12:10
First Grade-12:15-12:40
Second Grade-12:15-12:40
Third Grade- 11:15-11:40
Fourth Grade-11:15-11:40
