Visitor Aware
New Visitor Management & Screening Service
As an additional effort to improve the safety and security of our buildings, each school will be implementing a visitor management system called "Visitor Aware."
Visitor Aware is a visitor management and screening service designed specifically to help secure our schools. This provides an additional layer of security for your children by validating the identities of anyone entering the premises, determining if they are a potential threat, and keeping accurate records of all school visits. Be sure to have your Driver's License in hand the first time you visit.
Please review the short "How to" videos and corresponding Infographics, as well as the Parent Welcome Packet for more information (links below).
Medications
NEW for 2023-24: The new medication authorization forms required physician's signature and office stamp EVEN for self-carry/self-administration medications.
Call Attendance Office (591-2609) for Absences & Late Arrivals
Call by Noon next day to excuse when you receive reminder call
Student Parking
Vehicles must be registered to park on campus and have a parking sticker applied to the lower left passenger window.
NOTE: Parking sticker checks of all 6 high school parking lots took place the Week of Aug 28-31st with 150 reminder notices mailed. Most students have purchased a sticker but haven't put it on the windshield, others still need to register his/her vehicle. Please help remind them.
Attendance Letters Have Begun
Students are permitted a maximum of 10 absences per semester. There are two semesters per year (Aug - mid-January & mid-January to June) and letters are mailed at 3 days, 7 days, and 10 days of absence in addition to the daily robocalls.
The first set of 3 day letters and 7 day letters were sent home this week.
Outside Food Deliveries - Not without Prior Admin Permission
For the safety and nutritional needs of students, as well as to reduce disruptions to the educational process, food deliveries to school grounds through outside delivery services (i.e. Uber Eats, Grub Hub, Door Dash, etc.) and direct foodservice vendors (i.e. Panera, Jimmy John’s, Dominoes, etc.) must be pre-approved by school administrators.
Closed Campus
School district policy does not permit a student to leave campus once they have been dropped off or at any time during the school day, particularly at lunch or during SRT.
Any student needing to leave the school grounds must follow the Early Dismissal/Check Out procedure and obtain a pass from the Main Office. Failure to check out through the Main Office could result in disciplinary action.
If a student has an appointment during the school day, parents and/or guardians must call in first thing in the morning in order to have the student excused.

Positivity Project
P2: Next Week's Theme: Open-Mindedness
This week our school community focused on the character strength of Teamwork. Teamwork means you work well as a member of a group or team. You are loyal, reliable, and dedicated to helping your team achieve its goals.
Teamwork is the ability and willingness to place overall group success as a higher priority than individual achievement. Those who demonstrate strengths in teamwork often work to help all group members find success. These individuals are willing to commit time and resources in order to further group goals and help toward the greater good.
For individuals, teamwork often means deferring or delaying individual accomplishments in order to ensure that the group maintains a high level of success. Their commitment to the larger group effort makes them good teammates. The positive feelings associated with being part of a larger whole -- can be highly beneficial and combat selfishness and egotism.
To practice and encourage the character strength of teamwork with your child, please visit the Positivity Project’s P2 for Families (password: P2), where together you will watch a video, read a quote, and talk about the answers to three questions.
