DEAR DRRHS COMMUNITY:
First, congratulations to our graduates! We hope that you are enjoying some vacation time before you begin your next chapter. Next, I want to thank students, families, and the community for a successful school year. The entire community brought the best of themselves this year, which created a safe, supportive, and enriching school climate for all. Our students excelled academically, honed their skills in CTE shops, and performed on stages big and small. They competed honorably on the playing field and made us all proud to be Falcons. We hope that every student enjoys a fantastic summer break. Be smart; be safe!

End-of-year questions about grades, summer learning, and more
June 23, 2023
Dear Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School Students and Families:
As the school year comes to a close, students plan their summer learning activities. All students have summer reading, which can be found on the high school website, under the “students and parents” tab. Students electing honors-level and AP courses for next year may have additional summer assignments, so please check the website for information.
Some students will enroll in summer school credit recovery to relearn fundamental skills and earn credit for a class not passed this year. Students must have a minimum grade of 50 in order to be eligible to take a credit recovery course. If a student is eligible to take a summer school credit recovery course, their parent/guardian will be contacted by their child’s guidance counselor.
Many students choose to use the summer months for learning enrichment activities such as camps, internships, mini-courses, and full-length courses via a local college or through an online school. As an educational institution, we encourage all students to take advantage of enrichment activities that complement their interests. At the same time, we encourage all school community members to take time to relax and play this summer; both are crucial to everyone’s well-being.

Newly Added Electives!
While working with community members on the Portrait of a Graduate, we learned that many families would like more practical courses offered at the high school. We are pleased to announce that 3 of our CTE shops will be offering elective courses next year. If your child is interested in any of the following, please encourage them to complete the Google form below.
1. Child Development
2. Caring for Young Children
3. Basic Automotive Care
4. Intro to Woodworking
5. Advanced Woodworking
2023-2024 schedules released in August
We understand that families are eager to learn about new teachers for the upcoming school year, and the district shares in your excitement. During the summer months, school staff and administration continue the important work of building schedules, hiring staff, and assigning new students to classrooms. As a result, your child’s teacher and classroom assignment for the 2023-2024 school year will be released mid-late August, with the exact date to be determined. Once a date has been selected, we will notify families via email and our school website. Additionally, our bus company begins configuring the bus routes in July, and this information will be shared with families via email and posted on our website as soon as they are available. If you have any questions, please reach out to your building administrators.
Best wishes to our retiring teachers!
Two veteran teachers, Mr. Augusto and Mr. Loell, have officially retired! They have given a combined 51 years of service to the students at DR, and leave all of us better to have known them. We thank them for their dedication to students, colleagues, and the profession. The lessons you have imparted will live on in all of us.
REMINDERS
Attention Athletes!
Students who plan on trying out for interscholastic sports in August must have a current physical on file with the high school nurse (one done within 13 months) in order to tryout. Without this documentation students will not be eligible to tryout. If your student is having an appointment for a physical over the summer with their primary care physician please email the physical to:
ddailey@drregional.org (D-R nurse) or kOleary@drregional.org (D-R athletic trainer).
Any questions please reach out to either Mrs. Dailey or Mr. O'Leary.
