Good Evening Panther Family,
It is hard to believe we are already 3 weeks into the school year! This is not the typical year here at Eastside. In fact, this is the first year since the late 1980s our campus stands alone. We take this as an opportunity to reignite our pride in who we are and where we are from!
This year, we are creating opportunities for our students to 'plug-in', through the increase of clubs and activities during the school day. We are allowing our students to better understand their academic performance through the use of standards-based grading. We are seeking ways to improve the at-school experience for students. We are committed to our vision of making Eastside the first choice in education for East Austin families!
It is an honor and tremendous privilege to be a part of the Eastside community. I look forward to further communication with you throughout the year. Have a great week!
Paws Up!

E.A.S.T. Time Q&A
A: EAST Time replaces our traditional lunch times. Last year, we had 2 45-minute lunches. This year, we have 1 lunch for 1 hour and 3 minutes. During this time, students will be able to attend clubs of their choosing, get tutoring for content, and socialize with their friends.
Q: Why EAST Time?
A: The answer to this question is in the mnemonic. Through the use of this time, students can Engage with their peers through clubs and organizations, Advocate for themselves through club selection and intended goals of the club, Socialize with one another in a productive, college-like setting. Altogether, this will Transform the typical lunch-time experience.
Q: How does EAST Time work?
A: Outside of mandatory tutorials, students self-select the clubs/organizations they are interested in being a part of. Some students may select multiple clubs, some may select none at all. During the hour long lunch time, staff are doing one of three things: leading a club/organization/tutorial, on duty helping to maintain student safety, or taking their own lunch time.
Q: When does EAST Time take place?
A: EAST Time takes place everyday, Monday-Friday, unless otherwise noted. On Monday-Thursday, EAST Time is from 12:18 - 1:21 PM. On Fridays, EAST Time is from 12:28 - 1:31 PM. Please note that during EAST Time, no ARDs, 504, LPAC, or other parent meetings will take place.
We are excited to see our students get involved on campus! If you have any questions about EAST Time, please email Mr. Bailey.

Teen Outfitters
Hello Eastside community! This year our campus is lucky to have received funding to 36 students who are in need of clothing through the Teen Outfitters Project.
Assistance League of Austin’s Operation School Bell Initiative, Teen Outfitters Project, has served high school and non-uniform middle school students for the past twelve years. The 2022-2023 fiscal year will be Teen Outfitters Project’s thirteenth year to provide students the opportunity to select school clothing from a conventional shopping venue during after-school hours.
The event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 from 5:00-7:30p. Students will be able to shop up to $130 in clothing at the Old Navy Store in the Mueller Development, 1201 Barbara Jordan Blvd, Austin, TX 78723. Students will need to have their own transportation to the event. Students will check in with the Social Services Specialist, Ms. Carrillo, on the day of the event. If you have any questions, please reach out.
Thank you!
