4-peat! Based on their high scores and performance quality throughout contest season, the SMHS Diamond Line was personally invited to attend the the HTEDance Nationals Competition at the University of Incarnate Word on March 25-26. Our district Diamonds are NATIONAL GRAND CHAMPIONS in both officer and team divisions! Congratulations to each and every performer and Coach Knight!
Slime Smiles
Congratulations to the De Zavala Diamonds for reaching their campus fundraising goal for Jump Rope for Heart! Diamonds from all grade-levels celebrated with a slime party where Coach Klees was the brave victim who volunteered to be in the hot seat.
AttenDANCE Party
On Wednesday, March 23, Hernandez Heroes with terrific attendance throughout the third 9-weeks of school were invited to dance to the tunes of DJ Mr. Pallanes' playlist!
All Things Future
Current San Marcos High School AP Government students were invited to participate in a Philosophy Dialogue Series, hosted by Texas State's Department of Philosophy on Wednesday, March 23. SMHS 88' Alumnus, Dr. Evelyn Brister, collaborated with Lucy Anderson, Jeremy Laue and Caleb Williams. The four individuals used an interview technique, to press their understanding of democratic engagement, technology, and sustainability to uncover the worst fears and discover what everyone can do to prevent these common fears from coming true.
STEAM Night at Mendez
On Thursday, March 24, Mendez Elementary held their annual STEAM Night event. Shoutout to all Striker staff for organizing each creative station so students and their families could participate and enjoy a night full of learning!
What's a picnic without ants?!
Round of applause for Mr. Diaz and the 1st and 2nd grade Strikers. They performed songs from “Bugz” the musical, to wrap up an exciting night with a bang... or more appropriately, a bug!
Special Olympics 2022
Congratulations to the San Marcos HS Special Olympic teams for a successful weekend. The teams and students listed below earned 1st and 2nd place at the Special Olympics Basketball competition.

Hats off to First Responders
The SMHS Baseball team defeated the Hays Hawks on the road on Tuesday, March 22, and on Friday, March 25 as they honored many San Marcos First Responders. They improve to 2-2 in District 26-6A. Catch the next home game on April 1, versus the Austin Maroons.
Sunday Shoutout – Stoughton is Stuntin'
Congratulations to SMHS Alumnus and Head Softball coach, Cathy Stoughton for earning her 400th career win. Coach Stoughton has dedicated over 20 years to San Marcos CISD and is also a San Marcos Education Foundation Distinguished Alumni.
