What's Happening ?? !!

Dear Hawley Parents/Guardians,

Arctic air, sleet, ice, rain, warmth, sunshine: we definitely have experienced some New England weather these last few days. Also, from Self-Kindness Day to a PTA Meeting, from a secret painting project to Valentines for the troops, we are busy.

Here's What's Happening at Hawley.......

What an AMAZING Day!!!

This past Friday was Student Self-Kindness Day! To take care of themselves, students chose from a list of teacher-led activities and participated in two, 45-minute sessions. Grade-levels were mixed, smiles were everywhere, cooperation and kindness were a plenty, as was fun for all (even the staff ;0)~

Thank you to the teachers of Hawley for making this happen. I COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE PROUD OF OUR STAFF AND STUDENTS..... It was AMAZING!!!!!

Custodian, "Grandpa" Don Roos, is embarking on a very special painting project in our Multi-Purpose Room with our Kindergarten. Each week, I will continue to share some hints and at the end reveal the Final Product. Mrs. Fries's class were part of PHASE 2. It is very exciting...

The Monster Mash was a tremendous success. Not only was it a terrific, fun family event, but it raised over $10,000 for the PTA. Thank you for your support.

I will continue to share pictures of students participating in their Auction Activities. Here are students enjoying an afternoon of crafts with Paraeducators Mrs. Basso, Mrs. Capaldo and Mrs. Estes!

~ Dr. Rodrigue will be joining us and Child Care for school age children in the gym ~

Mr. M walked into the Lego group during Student Self-Kindness Day.

A kindergartener practically tackles him and says, "Thank You!"

"Why?" inquired Mr. M.

"For this great day. I am having so much fun with my new friend and she's in second grade" the youngster exclaimed.

"I am so happy" replied Mr. M. "What have you built?"

"This!" screamed the kindergartener showing their creation.

"What is it?" inquired the principal
"What is it?" the kindergartener asked her second grade partner.
"Just a thing" her partner replied.

"It's a Just A Thing!" yelled the kindergartener in excitement.
