GOOD TIMES HAD BY ALL! FALLOWEEN DANCE!
Thank you, parents, for volunteering your time and food for our Wildcats. This is one of our most costly dances because of the Haunted House, but our Wildcats love it and look forward to it every year! We wouldn't be able to make the magic happen without our families and all you do for us. THANK YOU!
2nd ANNUAL CULTURAL NIGHT AT SMS!
Students from both the high school and middle school presented their projects about the different cultures and countries they picked as their topic of focus. We also had different cultural dances represented by the elementary, middle, and high school students.

Cross-country Highlights!
At the meet, one word to sum it up...fantastic. The determination, desire, competitiveness, and team spirit/support that was on display were wonderful to see. I saw a lot of proud parents (and brothers and sisters) as you should be. Cool temps, a flat but varied course, and runners that pushed themselves led to a significant number of new Personal Best times, some of which were light years ahead of posted times at the start of the season. I can't believe how far some of them have come over the last 9 weeks in terms of fitness, belief, and confidence.
I've attached the official race results below. Take a look at their mile pace times and the continual improvement over the course of the season. Some shout-outs from the Championship:
- Sienna -who finished 6th out of 95 runners and ran a 7:05 pace (I'm sure it was the new shoes!) and medaled yesterday.
- Jackson- he ran all season in the 8th-grade category. Set a new mile PR of 6:26, finished 14th, and beat his course time from last year by 1:02! He also medaled.
- Madison - she ran, by far, her best pace of the season and has dropped her pace time from 11:37 to...wait for it...9:35!!!
- Cass ran her PR and beat her course time from last year by 22 seconds.
- Olivia beat her previous best time by 30 seconds per mile!
- Emmanuel -ran his best pace for the season and beat his last year's course time by 2:07!
- Faith -not just a sprinter. Dropped her pace time from 8:47 per mile to 7:42 yesterday (and had the red face to go with it.) All grit and determination down the final stretch. As I said to her, a bit like running in quicksand at the end, but she didn't disagree!
- Elijah, Alex, Danny, and Quiyi all dropped significant time off their efforts last year -in a couple of cases, over a minute.
The final aspect of all of this is that the course was the longest of the season at 2.0 miles = runners ran further, faster = very hard to do.
Three important final points before signing off:
1. Please turn in uniforms to Linda at the front office so I can get them all turned in and not have to chase.
2. Off in the future, I know, but there will be a meeting in May for CC next year.
KIddos will be provided with a training schedule for the summer to:
a.) get a head start on the season
b.) improve their fitness
c.) critically, reduce the injury issues caused by growing and trying to ramp up fitness for the season.
3. Banana bread. Enjoy. My mother was a wonderful cook (had to be with five children, including 3 boys with hollow legs), and the smell of this in the house when growing up was 'ahhh/mmm'! Let's just say that Linda and Kennet couldn't understand why I wasn't making extra for them on Thursday, and then I would watch it all disappear in 60 seconds at 7:15 a.m. on Friday.
Take care, everyone, and I'm sure I'll see you all around campus and at events!
Thank you for your hard work and dedication, Wildcats, and thank you, parents, for your support!
Coach Pipe!

FUNDRAISER
Thank you to all the families who have already participated in our SchoolStore fundraiser!
We are on our way to reaching our goal, but we need everyone's help to ensure our teachers get the essential tools to help our students succeed.
If your family has not participated, there's still time!
The kiddos have LOVED getting the participation prize of Sealife Wristbands!
This safe and easy fundraiser is 100% online, so there is no face-to-face selling, collecting money, or delivering products. Your child will receive a prize just for participating, and more prizes will be awarded when goals are reached.
Please help now. It really will make a difference.
Teachers love the Gift Cards being donated directly to your Advisory Teacher...Now THAT is having a DIRECT impact!
Go to https://www.schoolstore.net/sid.t?0000277453 to show our valued teachers your support.
Thanks

Important information from the California Department of Education.
BUSD Families,
The California Department of Education passed legislation this past July that all school districts must remind parents and legal guardians of all students in the Bonsall Unified School District of their responsibilities for keeping firearms out of the hands of children as required by California law. SECURED CAMPUS AND ENTRANCE INFORMATION
ATTENTION PARENTS!
We are excited to announce that we extended our safety and security for all staff and students by installing a fence around the front of our school! Visitors will be required to bring ID and check in at the Welcome Booth before anyone is permitted on campus.
Only emergency vehicles, buses, those with handicap placards, and those with other special placards have access to the upper lot, emergency lane closest to the front of our schools. You will need to show your placard to Campus Security.
This decision to enforce our existing parking lot plan aligns with the recommendations of our community safety partners and will increase our ability to maintain a safe and secure site:
- When dropping students off, please use the lower levels of the parking lot.
- When visiting either the middle or the high school office, please park in the lower levels, bring your ID to the Welcome booth, and check in with the appropriate staff.
We appreciate your partnership and support in our efforts to provide the highest levels of safety for our students
