Dress up as your favorite book character on Thursday, October 31! Jefferson Elementary School will be holding a schoolwide Book Character Day on Thursday, October 31. All students are welcome to dress up as a character from one of their favorite books. Please do not go out and buy a costume. Use items from home--handmade and do-it-yourself costumes are encouraged! Keep it simple and fun!

Our plan is to have Jefferson's Book Fair be open from 9am - 12 noon from Monday, November 4 through Wednesday, November 6 for students, and from 6- 7:30 pm on Wednesday, November 6. In order to keep the fair open for these hours, we need parent volunteers to help. Please keep an eye on your child's backpack this week for the sign-up for volunteers for this event (especially daytime hours). Books will be available for a variety of reading levels and interests! If you are unable to attend the Book Fair in person, we invite you to visit our online Book Fair at scholastic.com/fair. We look forward to see you and your family at the Book Fair and Family Math Night (see details below).

To begin the night, please join us from 6-6:15 pm for an informative presentation from our Elementary School Building Committee about the proposed new elementary building. Members of the Elementary School Building Committee will be available for questions after the presentation as well.

Immediately following the brief presentation, on Wednesday, November 6, in conjunction with our Scholastic Book Fair, Jefferson School will be holding its third annual Family Math Night (from 6:15-7:00 pm). Each grade level, K-4, will have math games to play with families here and ideas for math games to play at home. Come to Family Math Night to see how math games can support your child's learning at school and at home. We are looking forward to a wonderful night!
