The CA Department of Public Health has updated their guidance for isolation and quarantine. Beginning March 13, 2023, a person who has tested positive for COVID-19 may end their isolation period after day 5 if symptoms are mild and improving AND they are fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication. A negative test is no longer necessary to end isolation before day 10 as previously required.
