Students in Mr. Duncan Luke's Architectural CAD class work on expanding their custom house design with new allotted budget additions, as well as preparing to use the Enscape rendering plugin for Revit to consider realistic previews on their workstation while preparing for injection into a virtual reality system via Steam/Valve software married with HTC Vive Hardware.

Cloud-connected printing enables easier printing. Students had designed Christmas ornaments for the holidays. The browser-based slicer was helpful compared to printing on the older 3D printer Mr. Killilngsworth was using and will go a long way towards having students manage the 3D printing themselves. Being able to design, slice, and print from a Chromebook is very student-friendly. Check out Makerbot lesson options.

Members of the Agriculture classes at George Junior High have a BBQ Club and recently held a cookout fundraiser yesterday to support students that were affected by the tornados in Eastern Arkansas yesterday. The proceeds will be sent to the Trumann and Buffalo Island Central high school FFA advisors in January. Mr. Eric Smith is the Agriculture instructor at GJHS.

William Hollman participated in the "Wood Wacking" competition in which agriculture students were judged on their speed, strength, and technique of sawing and splitting wood.

Students were asked to create a Grand Opening storefront with a holiday theme in Shannon Green's Small Business Operations class. Winners' storefronts are shown above with Haute business designers Mary Abon and Aylin Morales-Aguilar and Tatis designers Brenda Nunez and Gisel Calderon.

Students were provided with a vision to consider of "What would you want customers to see if they were walking by your storefront on Emma Street in downtown Springdale?".

Food Safety & Nutrition students participated in a collaborative project with the theme of "The Elements of the Earth". Mrs. Amanda Craddick's sculpture students created tablescapes for the showcase. The Food Safety and Nutrition students made and sold cakes. Each cake, filling, and the frosting was made from scratch. Ms. Lindsey Harlan is the FSN instructor.

Students at Lakeside JH's Leadership Class and FCCLA competed at the District STAR Events. The students listed placed 1st or 2nd in their category and will advance to the state competition in Benton, AR on March 28th. Mrs. Ashley Coston is the FCCLA Advisor at Lakeside.

GJHS FCCLA students attended the District I Winter Leadership on January 26. GJHS STAR Events participants received their scores and medals in recognition of their projects, and those who placed first or second will compete at the state competition in March. Jayla Sterling, 8th-grade student at George Junior High, was officially installed as the new District 1 Vice President of Community Service.
