This Week in Art
2 February 2018
Art II
by Sarah H., grade 8 - This week in art we learned about Black History Month and worked on our lenticular images. We all were supposed to draw/paint an image that shows opposites or something even more deep. We are all working on something for Black History Month as of now. This is what we did this week in art.
Art I
by Reggie N., grade 8 - For this week in art we did very creative things. We were introduced to sculpting and we made a portrait for Black History Month. To start the week, we made sculptures out of soap. Plus we made portraits of famous African-Americans who have helped make a difference in the world. Finally, we were introduced to watercolor today. I would describe this week as creative and something new.
Art I
by Hunter J., grade 7 - This month in art we drew portraits. We drew a Black History Month portrait. We also drew a self-portrait with three items that are important to us. Another things we made was a soap sculpture with Ivory soap. Lastly, we watched videos on Laylah Ali, Michelangelo, and their artwork.
Sixth Grade Art Rotation
by Rob W., grade 6 - I will be talking to you about what we did this week. This week we started our clay and we are making cups. Another thing we did this week is we drew buildings on a poster. Last, we drew trees to finish our buildings poster. This is what we did this week in 6th grade art.
Art II sketchbook assignment
Due Thursday 2/8: Design a valentine or an anti-valentine. Art II sketchbook assignments should look like finished works of art, like they took about an hour to complete. They are due every Thursday.
