OCTOBER 2021 PARENT NEWSLETTER
HAPPY FALL Y'ALL!
Dear Parents,
I am proud to announce that we have had a very successful 1st 6 weeks. Students have been doing a great job following our safety protocols and learning in the classroom. I am so grateful of how well our students, parents and staff has come together to make our return so successful!
We are completing beginning of the year assessments in all grade levels and this information will be shared with parents very soon. Our campus leadership team has been analyzing the data and is working with teachers to put a strong action plan in place to address any areas of weakness. We will then continue to assess students and monitor their progress through small group targeted learning sessions and possibly after school tutoring. Please know that teachers are creating prescriptive lessons to assist your child in meeting learning goals.
Our Rayburn PTO is excited to bring back our Annual Fall Festival! Please support our school with this. We are looking for sponsors and volunteers. Please review the flyer below for more information. We have been able to add many improvements to our school with these funds as well as pay for many student activities/incentives.
Please stay attentive to our district and campus emails and posts. We have a lot of October activities scheduled and encourage your children and/or family to participate. Please know that we are here to support your child any way we can and we look forward to another successful six weeks of learning.

OCTOBER CALENDAR OF EVENTS
FIRE PREVENTION WEEK - OCTOBER 3-9, 2021
Each year we observe Fire Prevention Week. During this week, children, adults, and teachers learn how to stay safe in case of a fire. Firefighters provide lifesaving public education in an effort to drastically decrease casualties caused by fires.
It is important for every member of the community to take some time every October during Fire Prevention Week to make sure they understand how to stay safe in case of a fire.
Tips on ways to stay safe:
· Regularly test your smoke alarms inside your home.
· Create and practice a safe fire escape route.
· Never leave food cooking unattended.
· Avoid using portable and fixed space heaters.
· Create an emergency supply kit and keep it in a safe place.
A message from Mrs. Mascorro, School Counselor
In October we have our guidance lesson focusing on Bullying. This lesson is presented to the students in a child friendly way. It is communicated in the sense to help the students feel comfortable to speak up and unite against bullying.
