Des Moines Arts Festival - Friday, June 28 through Sunday, June 30th

One of the recent art lessons in the art room has focused on helping the environment and oceans. We took the Ocean Challenge given by the organization, Students Rebuild. The Upper Elementary art students created sea creatures with re-used and recyclable materials. The Lower Elementary art students created sea creatures with telephone wire. The Bezos Family Foundation will donate $4 for each artwork donated through Earth day and $2 per artwork from then until June. So far we have raised $1,032. This money will go towards programs that teach students how to help care for the oceans.

Our Cowles Art Exhibit will be on display from Thursday, April 25th until Friday, May 3rd. Each student will have one piece on display throughout the building.

Our Lower Elementary and Upper Elementary Music Program is April 30th in the Roosevelt High School Auditorium. The Lower Elementary Program will start at 6:00 and the Upper Elementary Program will start at 7:30.

BINGO de Mayo

We have also planned a Bingo Night Fundraiser at Juniper Moon on Sunday, May 5th from 4-6pm. Since it is Cinco de Mayo, we have coined the event "Bingo de Mayo". Juniper Moon will donate 20% of all bar sales back to the Kofu families. All Bingo proceeds will also go back to those families.
